well so much for the end of a great relationship.
it finally happened.
i was driving to work today when my deli lost power suddenly, then make a lot of loud noises, and died.
she was coughing up a fair amount of black smoke, but she was under load driving up a hill.

its too bad really, since she only had about 188k kms on her. Image

has been a sad day indeed... Image

might need a new engine... Image

Sounds like the turbo has failed, if the turbo hasn't spat parts into the engine, it might be ok with just a new one.

Chin up.

i will probably have to wait a few days to find out whats wrong...

i live in the okanagan.
it would cost me more money than the cost of a new engine to get my deli towed to cvi.
as much as i wanted to do this, it was not an option.

i suppose a retailer here in the interior will now sell me parts for rediculous prices.

Thats sucks. The Okanagan can't lose any Delica's...already hard enough to have a meet!!

How's Mustang Connection for Delica parts? They were pretty reasonable for Hilux parts for me but that was like 4 years ago and they don't seem as active anymore.

Hey maybe this would be perfect for an engine source. I contacted the seller yesterday wondering why 'parts only' since it looks so nice in the pics and it was written off by ICBC for what seller describes as minor front end damage. I'd even be interested in buying the rims from it if they would fit an L400 (bore size and backspace).
