Inspection

I feel like I'm missing something - I have used the search function, and I've not really come up with anything for where to get a newly arrived van inspected. Most of the hits I get are really old. I'd rather not spend 1/2 a day driving out to Richmond and back to see Mardy - any recommendations in the Coquitlam area?

Thanks

Glenn Werners auto service in Delta inspected both my Delicas. Phone them first for costs and an appointment.

I used Werners last time, but - does anyone have a recommendation for an inspection shop in BBY or coquitlam?

Ok, I have another inspection question.

All the headlights, markers, turnsignals are marked with an E4. Does this mean they are good here? It would be nice to not have to swap these all out.

I've changed the front lenses to E coded, added DRL and reflectors so I think I am good otherwise.

Thanks to anyone that can answer this.

Glenn

E4 is the Netherlands. See: http://www.delica.ca/forum/understandin ... 12095.html

The Miss Lil' Bitchi's are E4, as well. Hope this helps... smiles.

To answer my own question: No, E4 is not accepted and all the bulbs need to be changed (just in case someone else has the same question and also cannot get a response here). It seems like some inspectors might let lights with this code go, but not all of them. It seems to me better to err on the side of full compliance though, so I don't mind having a fussy inspector.

Thanks Glenn! You're welcome, Glenn!

E code lights are perfectly legal, there are a few pigheaded people out there who refuse to believe this despite the fact that many NA cars have them.

Of course E4 is accepted. The Netherlands drive on the right hand side of the road and as Canada accepts E codes (so long as they are on the same side of the road as Canada) and the Netherlands drive on the same side of the road...
  • Who told you E4 was not acceptable? Where are you going to get your Space Gear inspected?

If the E codes are no longer acceptable then there's going to be some disappointed BMW/Merc drivers.

Falco.

I'm going to Werners. No one else recommended anything else to me, as you can see. I even pm'd two members and didn't get replies. I came up with nothing on my searches, so I went with the same place I went to last time. In the scheme of things, changing the bulbs is a pretty minor inconvenience, and not worth getting my knickers in a knot over. My headlight bulbs had dot marks, thankfully, so I'm only out about $20.

I'll mention it to him, that you guys insist the bulbs with E4 codes are acceptable and see what he says.

Sorry Glenn, I thought you were talking about the headlamp lenses. Still, E-codes are recognised for the lenses, why not the bulbs?

Werner's Auto Klinik - 6-7157 Honeyman St, Delta, BC, (604-946-1711)

BMW specialist, busy place - you can book a loaner car though. Nice guy, he's been doing these inspections since the early days (like 7 years ago).

First place I took my Delica to and he was great. Now that I've found CVI, I only get work done there if I need a loaner vehicle.
