The she says " must be weird driving here in ottawa"
I said , well yeah the people drive pretty crazy here cutting you off with no signal etc...
Then she says " no i mean having to drive on the right side of the road " !!!!! And she was serious !
Hahahaha

Oh dear... by "here in Ottawa" does she mean "here in Ottawa" as opposed to overseas in BC?

The one downfall of driving RHD is having to swerve around all the incoming traffic.

Wouldn't the incoming traffic be on the LEFT side of the road. The OP said she said "right side of the road".

I've started to tell people that everyone in BC drives RHD vehicles back home, I just brought mine with me. They usually look at me with astonishment and say "Oh really??" or they just laugh and call me an ass. Heehehehe

Anyone ever take a Deli through the drive thru at Tims going the opposite direction? Or maybe in reverse? (When I get mine, I think I'll try that...and Youtube it.)

In an L300 it's quite easy to do the Timmy Ho's drive through. The window controls are in the centre console and the reach (for the coffee) is not that far.
Falco.

Yup, I did so today. I'd love to try and drive through backwards, but a friend tried this in a RHD Prelude and was given a ticket.

How the hell can they give you a ticket when you're essentially in a parking lot?

In BC anywhere the public can freely drive including a parking lot is defined as a HIGHWAY for the motor vehicle act and therefore can be enforced.....

Interesting. I'll keep that in mind, not that I'm ever likely to go bass-ackwards through a Tim's drive thru, (which are scarce on the island anyway, from what I've seen). Different provinces, different laws...gonna be fun!

I was at a McDonalds just before I got my Deli and witnessed a younger owner of a RHD Skyline go backwards at the drive-thru. The entire path was straight, no turns. He backed out past the cashier after paying and then put in drive and drove out on the open lot. His car was so low there was no way he could have reached the window to pay had he gone forward.
I just make my kids order for me from the passenger seat....messes with the person who takes money seeing a kid at the window.
LOL

I tell the dimmer-folk that BC means BRRRITISH Columbia (emphasis on rolling those British Rrr's), we were originally a colony of Britain, and that's why we have so many right-hand drive cars, just like in England. Their blank stares in response are scary ... hope I never meet them in an intersection.

TardisDeli...I just love that. I've been thinking of naming my future ride 'Dalek Delica', just because.
Allons y!
