Hey everyone I'm Tyler from north Vancouver BC. I have always thought these were the coolest weirdest vans ever but I can't stop reading about these and thinking they are the best. I haven't taken the plunge yet but will be by year end. Is there any info or places to meet up in north van that. Would be good for a guy like me? I'm leaning towards the l300 I like the body style best. Is there any year make that you should stay clear from? Look forward to learning lots here

Hi Tyler, welcome to Delica Canada :M

I have an L300 and live in North Van. Send me a PM and we can hook up for coffee, say at Brazza and you can take a look at my Star Wagon if you wish.

Falco.

How hard is it to make the switch to RHD. Must be very weird at first? Are the blind spots just like any other vehicle? Basic I'm going to be using this as my daily driver from north van to west van and camping! Lots and lots of camping

The switch is something that you will likely be over in the first two weeks. I had a head start, mind ~ as I first learned to drive in the UK ~ although this occurred in the mid eighties. In fact I was more concerned with having a "flash-back", as the last time I controlled a vehicle from the right hand seat I was driving on the other side of the road. I made it a policy for the first while to not smoke or drink coffee, &c., whilst operating the wagon. The weirdest aspect I found was being on the low side of the camber of the road ~ I don't even notice it now.

Blind spots? Of course, like any vehicle. However they are quite different from LHD vehicles. With the Starwagon I have found that I have the best view in any vehicle I have driven, but there are still blind spots, such as the front A pillar, as narrow as it is, falls right in line with pedestrians stepping off the curb. There are benefits to sitting on the right side of the wagon as when you go to pull out into traffic you B pillar is only six inches wide, where if you were sitting on the left side the presence of the pillar would appear much greater, thereby impairing your view more. Also, you get a better view of oncoming traffic from the right side of the vehicle in front.

Like all situations, you adapt. Drive accordingly.

Falco.

I dislike searching cause it never
Works out for me but I've been reading and reading and finding certain things to do for service and or tune up right away after purchasing a delica. I have my eyes on a 92 L 300 and it has new front shocks, ball joints and timing belts done and radiator. What other things should be done first once you have purchased a delica?

I don't want to start a new thread but I've been searching about Seatbelts and carseats. I have a baby girl 3mnths of age and need to be able to hook up the car seat. So I'm a little confused. I've read a bunch about the different methods of making it safe and doing mods for it but no real answer of anything stock. Is there any year of the l300 where I can just strap her in normally? I'm looking at a 1991-1994 delica preferably 92.
Please help me, I don't feel comfortable rigging anything up that could be not safe.
Thanks
