L400 air filters

By what can only be a miracle, I've been running on the same air filter for approximately two years. It's the one that was in it when I picked up the van from Mardy. In a nutshell: Mardy either didn't have them in stock or was too busy selling vehicles to get to my little order (understood), and life kept distracting me from chasing the filters down.

I've searched forum and found some great discussion on air filters as well as part #s for K&N air filters. Unfortunately, the recommendation seems to be against the K&N filters.

So there must be where does one buy L400 air filters? Obviously, I'll keep trying my preferred source (Mardy), but they must be more widely available. No?

I just bought a paper one from Coombs after a recent tune up to use when I am cleaning my K&N. I think that it is personal preference and environment that effect your decision to buy a K&N. I personally love it and it is the 3rd vehicle I have put it in. A few times this summer I had to clean it (dust and poplar fuzz) but I really like mine. It purrs like a kitten, you can hear the turbo spool much better and it does give a little extra little boost. More air + more power. I had my van tuned at Coombs with the K&N in it and they were very impressed with the pep of my van. When I put the paper in it to clean the K&N when I got home it really felt like it lost a step. I will still throw the paper one in when the conditions demand it, like when it is super dusty, buggy, or lots of poplar fuzz floating in the air; but for most of the time I use my K&N.

Keep on top of it (which sounds like it may be difficult for you, since you are running a 2 year old filter :-) ) and it will treat you fine.

The Blueprint paper filters that Coombs sell are very good, by the way.

Sure do. It is the E-2877. Don't bother going to shops locally that sell K&N because, of course, it won't show up in their system. I ordered mine off E-bay from a company called Autocom Performance Parts. Think I paid $55 - $60 including shipping. Just search K&N E-2877 and tons will come up on the Fleebay.
