Broken wire found today

Found a broken wire leading from the harness that goes to the batteries etc, to a micro switch on the IP, it looks like at the far end of the throw of the throttle linkage. Nothing is running abnormally, I havent tried AC yet, anyone know what the wire is for? I had wondered when that wire was going to let go, as it always looked really loose. I will probably replace that section of wire and molex plug with a splice and a couple of knife connectors.

I just tried to add a picture of what I am talking about, but its not letting me saying my picture can only be up to 960 pixels wide. I just resized down to a tiny little useless picture and it still gave me the same warning. I will post this and try and edit it with the pic later :-(

Still not letting me post pictures saying they are too big

Pretty sure that's A/C cutoff or something like that. Mine's the same way, asked Butch - he said it was fine! Still not really sure what it does though......

is the switch covered by a sorta accordian rubber cover? is it pushed only when the throttle is all the way open? if so it is the a/c cutoff switch. shuts off the a/c when climbing hills to for more power to the driveshaft

hmm I don't think there is a rubber boot on the switch, but it is on the open end of the throw for the throttle linkage, so that makes sense to me, for ac cutoff. My ac did some funky things a little while ago, like reving up the engine close to 500rpm when I hit the ac, but I think that cleared itself, doesnt seem to do it anymore, (not really that its been warm enough to need ac lately) I will have to do some wire chasing on my next day off! :-D

The AC inhibit does have a rubber boot, mine fell off, then the center pin fell out. It was sticking so I lubricated it. The sticky was what was holding it all together ;-)
