Hi All, Update: Great News:

The annual CVI Appreciation day will be Saturday 11 August, 11am to 4pm.

Butch wants to show us all that we can do our own maintenance, even without a hoist! So he will show us all the tricks, in a park! So next time your boring family is playing soccer in the park, you can enjoy some quality JDM time!

Mundy Park in Coquitlam is minutes away from the TardisDeli BackYard Motel, so the first 3 out-of-towners to request overnight moorage in our backyard get space! Come on Alberta Folks, time for your annual trek to CVI.

Cheers, Christine & Jay.

CVI details are on their forum posting, which I have pasted below:

5th Annual CVI Appreciation Day :-D :-D

Date: August 11, 2012 Saturday
Time: 11 am - 4 pm

Venue: Mundy Park, 641 Hillcrest Street. Coquitlam, BC
GPS Coordinates: 49.253157, -122.835152
https://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&source= ... =6&iwloc=A

For more information, CVI phone number: 604-247-0500

Everyone is welcome to the 5th annual CVI Appreciation BBQ. This year, we have decided to take advantage of the amazing weather and host the BBQ at Mundy Park in Coquitlam. We'll have lots of great food available and there's a relatively large parking lot next to the picnic shelter for us to show off our delicas. We'll be having DIYs (do it yourself) and PM (preventative maintenance) showcases throughout the day too.

The park itself is a awesome spot for families: SWIMMING POOL Located 5 minutes walking distance away from the BBQ site (open from 1:00 - 8:30 pm and costing $2 for both children and adults); 9-HOLE FRISBEE GOLF COURSE; LOTS OF Walking TRAILS (for those spouses bored with Delica's); BASEBALL DIAMONDS & FIELDS; LACROSSE BOX;

This is the end of update .... my original post below, cheers, Christine.
Hello Del'o's,

Butch of CVI, and I, are planning the Annual CVI Learning Day / Customer Appreciation Day, for 2012.

I wonder if we scheduled it in mid June, or mid July, could more out-of-towners arrive as part of their summer vacation trip?

Butch will focus on DIY Do It Yourself maintanance, this time on the ground, not on a hoist, so that we all realize how easy it is to do our own maintenance, even without a hoist.

Location probably a large public park, so people can bring their families to play, Butch's family puts on the usual HUGE BBQ feast for us all. Location suggestions welcome. Also, I welcome invitations from local delica owners to billet out of town delica owners.

Regards, Christine.

I know it is not on the list....but I would love August! I am driving through on my way to and from Tofino. Know it is probably not possible but this sounds like an amazing event. Might still try to book in to give the van a once over before I trek home to Alberta instead.

This sounds like an amazing opportunity , I come over from the Island for sure. Either date would take some work but doable

Hi Irp,
I was talking with Butch the other day. He hasn't got a fixed day as of yet but it looks like it'll be in August (a sunny idea). CVI is looking for a different venue this time ~ rather than the shop ~ change things up a little. He will be posting before too long with more details... smiles.

Falco.

Wow, I realize I don't visit as often as I used too but I'm really surprised no one posted any pictures or comments on this great meet!

Firstly, I'm gonna thank Butch and his crew for organizing this picnic and spoiling us with amazing BBQ food! Love that pork on skewers!!!

I might have seen big corporations doing it but how often do you see the little guys, regular shop owners throwing such a good party for their customers???

Thanks again Butch and friends for this great day!

It was also nice to meet new owners or put a face to the name. I saw cool mods like propane injection on a 400 & some ragged rigs like that custom rear end on a 300, loved it!

Cheers all!
Mr. D
