Worthy info and read... *cough* miss.

For forced aspirated cars, intercooling is one of the most vital considerations. In fact, after ensuring that you get plenty of boost over as wide an engine load range as possible, and there’s the right fuel and (in petrol engines) ignition timing, intercooling is the key to making power. That applies whether you’re talking an Impreza WRX, Falcon XR6 Turbo – or a diesel passenger car.

But in other respects, diesels are different. Simply, the intercooling approach that works on a high performance petrol engine car does not necessarily work on a diesel turbo. Let’s take a look.

Too tall. I attempted to fit one from a Paj 2.8 but failed.

Why not use the one that comes with it and just wire it to a switch instead of a temperature control?

You can. I had a Paj sitting beside and like that style intercooler better than the L400 but after trying to get it to fit, it's obvious why they chose the box on the L400 vs the rectangle on the Paj. Placement and room.

Jesse this was far better 'must read' than your post on shop history.

I have seen some low profile, high cfm fans that might work at reducing the heat soak of the intercooler on our L400s. The Pajero certainly benefits from its intercooler fan. Will know more when I have it home.
