Chrome Exhaust Tip Sizes

I'm looking at buying a chrome exhaust tip to cover up my rusty tail pipe. Seller says he has a 2" tip. Measured my exhaust pipe at just over 1-3/4". Does this mean I need a 1-3/4" tip, or is a 2" made to fit over the pipe I've got?

Otherwise the exhaust system is fine, so I figure a tip will keep it from looking shoddy until I need a new muffler, then I can replace the exhaust pipe.
