Hello! Looking to buy, but need help with inspections

Hi all,

I've been longing for a Delica for ages, and have finally come to the realization that its an obsession that just wont pass. We have no option but to buy one! Our first step is joining this truly great community. The contributions are so helpful for newbies like me, so thank you!

My wife and I are looking to buy a L400. We currently own a Golf Wagon and it just doesnt handle backroads well at all.

Over the time I've been reading the forums, I've seen a couple of really good inspection overviews. Foolishly, I didnt bookmark it when I had the chance, and now I cant find them. Is there anyone who may be able to point me towards a good post in the forum (or elsewhere) to help me find inspection tips?

This post is a bit of an intro and a bit of an purchase question, so my apologies if its not in the right forum.

Thanks for your help in advance and i'm looking forward to owning.

J

Your best option is to have CVI in Richmond inspect the L400 you intend to buy. Even if you have to pay a day's insurance $35 and the inspection fee $approx 100, it will be worth it. There is no other way I would recommend unless you're outside of the lower mainland in which case there are other service shops that will give it to you straight.

I would recommend both CVI and Japanoid as they know excatly what to look at and you are in Vancouver.

Look in the Vendors Section for a list of service shops registered on this forum. Will give you an idea of where you can take the L400 and have it inspected for you.
