Well hello Delica.ca members.

Gotta admit I have been a staunch Nissan lover for over 15 years, but my fellow Pajero pal keeps telling me how much he loves his JDM Paj's. So to his joy and obvious elation I have embarked on a search for an L300 that will likely stay with me for several years. The late 97 model Star Wagon is what I am working towards but the best way to find out about any issues to watch for is to ask those in the know. Would love to hear about the biggest issues to watch for so I get a decent unit.

The late 97 model won't be available until late 2012. The vehicle must be 15 years ok'd to register. When are you looking to buy?

I am painfully aware of the 15 year rule so unless I can find a 5-speed L300 in perfect condition with a working Crystal Lite Roof, and low milage the plan is to purchase a late 97 model in the fall of 2012. I like the newer bumper and light pod on the 97, not a real fan of the tubular 'guard' found on earlier models.

That looks great with the new bumper.

That makes more sense and brings up an interesting point. Is it possible to buy this bumper separately and install it on an older model l300?

I would be the new BB. My current ride is a 6" lifted/solid axle swapped Nissan Xterra in Solar Yellow. My Mitsu buddy tagged me with the nickname Big-Bird over 10 years ago when I first bought it. The name has stuck ever since.

Its official......I've got the Starwagon itch and want to check out a Delica in person.

Welcome Big-Bird. Drop by Saturday morning at the Coop before we take off on our road trip. Ian and I both have L400's but someone may show up with their L300 possibly. White mule will be meeting us on the way, he has a nice L300. Too bad you can't join us on our trip.

I'm very interested in your custom fabbed bush bar with winch mount that you have on your Xterra, and you posted here http://www.delica.ca/forum/front-bumper ... 72-30.html. I have some ideas, and sketching skills that can be put to use. Let me know when you get your ride and start think about the bush bar again. Maybe a group buy would be doable. No rush.

Well I did look at and drool over Marshall's L300. Sweet ride there dude. Thought the members of the forum would get a kick out of a few pics I finally managed to upload from my phone. I knew the stock Deli's were tall but this was the first time I was able to get a side by side comparison with the Big-Bird.
