2,4l (4G64) won`t start

Hi,
when i wanted to drive to my work this morning my van just didn`t start. Just nothing...
What i checked this far:
-Sparks on all sparkplugs
-fuel is there where it should be
-timing is right
-no trouble codes
Only thing i could think of is a plugged cat, but i don`t think so...
Anyone has an idea?

I would unbolt the cat. it comes loose with 2 bolts.. Try that.

OK so if you have spark, fuel, and air you should have combustion. So you say you have spark, is it intermittent, strong, weak, timed properly? First off pull the distributor cap and check the rotor and cap for corrosion or deterioration. If it shows signs of that, replace them. Next to check is coil connection. Once this is done check plug wires for signs of rubbing or wear, if rubbed out replace them. Plugs are they relatively new? Show signs of wear? Do you have a gauge to check the gaps? So now that we have all the spark side covered its time for fuel, Last time you fueled up? Changed fuel filter? Water in the fuel causing freeze up? Add some gas line dryer/methyl hydrate to your tank it will absorb and take care of the ice if its out doors it will take awhile if you can get it indoors it will take a lot less time. Now time for air, air cleaner clean? Any thing in the intake causing a blockage?
The assumption of the catalytic converter being plugged is most of the time not warranted, was it feeling sluggish before? Was the engine having a hard time with no load to reach a higher RPM? If you answer no to the last question its time to negate the converter.
If you stick to the basics of fuel, fire, and air you will be running in no time.

So i put a set of new spark plugs in it and it starts as usual...

You should inspect and clean the distributor cap and rotor often, maybe at every oil change. If you let the cap and rotor go, it will give symptoms that mimic fuel pump failure (low pressure). It will be hard to start and act like it is not generating pressure.
NGK plugs should hold up well. Are you using regular NGK or the OEM recommend Laser Platinum plugs? My Laser Platinum plugs are still holding strong after being in service for quite some time now.

This time of year, I would check the air butterfly. Sounds wierd but if they gum up, won't close completely you will have stalling problems and often the engine won't start. Just wipe off the butterfly and barrel with thinners to remove dirt and gum.
Sounds like you've checked everything else. Great engine.
