Sun-Roof gear soloution

the gear on my sun-roof motor was worn to the point that it was slipping constantly. to fix it i flipped the gear, and then swaped the location of the two switches ( activated by the red paltic cam under the gear) that control how long the motor runs to pop up the end, and than fully open the roof.

flipping the gear causes the system to run backwards, flipping the switches puts everything back in order. two negatives make a positive in this case.

my sun-roof now opens and closes nicely, eventually the gear will wear down again, but thats another 15 years down the road

I hope this helps some people out, if anything is unclear I am more than happy to elaborate further

sorry, i didnt take any photos. but i will make it a bit more clear what i actually did.

i removed the retaining clip from the helical gear to remove it, I then fliped it over so the worn end was at the bottom and the unused end was at the top. i think that part is pretty simple and im sure everyone got that.

what i meant by flip the switches is, to swap their locations. i found this link, there is a pic that shows the sunroof motor. you swap the location of limit switch A & B
