Not to steal Markus' thunder, but I to went on a little jaunt this week up in the smithers area. Finally got the Delica in deep water (covered the fog lights, which are quite aways up on mine) through a rushing river. The water swamped the landcruisers that came with me. It was a blast. Then we went through a really narrow road covered with brush. As well it was a good thing we had a chainsaw, as we had to clear about 6 trees off the road. Heres a pic, and a few videos.

Picture = Crossing a fallen tree (easier than bucking a small one).


Video = Hows this for a narrow road. You cant totally tell till you see the cruiser behind us. You should see the scratches on the sides of the van now... it looks like i wanted millions of tiny pin stripes! It was worth it.


Video = River crossing... it doesn't seem so bad till you realize that that water is sooo close to the windshield, and that the cruiser's hood went right under.


Sorry there are no scenic pictures of the end destination... some gorgeous mountains, quite a mountain pass. I was not sure if the Delica could climb a few of the sections, but it just crawled up in 4 low... its quite the beast. I'll post more pics soon when I get them from the other guys.

I've always wanted to take the pass all the way across to the Copper River and out to Terrace. I'm pretty sure it isn't passable all the way, how far did you guys make it?

Cool report Josh! Good to see someone takes pictures of there adventures! Nobody, from our whole gang, took a single picture on the westcoast last week.

We made it a ways in, some lake or other... (the name eludes me, shame shame) It was supposed to be impassable shortly after that due to rock slides. But we took a wander up, and although it gets narrow in a few areas due to rocks and water washouts... i think it would be worth a shot. Maybe camp along the way, do some fishing... maybe next years northern delica meet?

Wow-I cringed at all that "bushwacking"...an electric/air powered buffer should get most of those scratches out. ("the Horror....the Horror..." )
What was the end result with the 'Cruiser? Just got too wet, and stalled? I can see the Delica's advantage of having the motor tucked up inside the cabin...

No buffing going on here... those scratches are my beloved battle scars till it gets painted. This precious beast is a northern 4x4 toy, and doesn't need to be primped (Adrock, I am sure you'd approve!).
