Just took her up a couple of Hills in White Rock. Did much better than I expected. I do think my speedo is way out though!!!!fexlboi wrote:Wow, these are 33"? They look quite tiny on your huge lift.![]()
Any experience yet how the van is doing if you push it up a steep hill?

Re: L300 Stretch updates
Going from 237/75/15's to 32.5" tires, my egt's shot up from 920 to 1200+ on the same stretch of highway going uphill. Was coming close to cooking the manif and turbo.
What EGT's are you seeing ?
You will be travelling at approx 112km/hr while speedo will read 100km/hr.
My 32's read 110.2km/hr

Re: L300 Stretch updates
Well stretch goes back into the shop on Wed, for the side door mod, final paint and yup, looks Like I gotta do it! Solid front axel. I'll go with the Toyota Tacoma front end unless someone knows something I don't (If you do, please let me know). Does anyone know what the gearing in the Delica's front pumpkin is? I'll need to change the Tacoma's mosty likely.

For the under-edumucated, can you elaborate why you "gotta" change out the front end? Just so we can keep up with the rest of the class.Super Exceeded wrote:Well stretch goes back into the shop on Wed, for the side door mod, final paint and yup, looks Like I gotta do it! I can't find a way to make the front suspension work so the truck rides like tank. A solid front axel, from everyone I have spoke with, is the only option left.mararmeisto wrote:For the under-edumucated, can you elaborate why you "gotta" change out the front end? Re: L300 Stretch updates
Under the drivers seat on the carpet there is a little flap. Underneath is the vin/code plate of your L300.
As it's an automatic, 99.9% that you have 4.875 gears in your diffs.
What's the Toyota gears ?
In the rear, you can swap out to 5.29's from most 5-spd L300's or Pajero's. Montero's in the US mostly have 4.26 among other gear sets. If swapping from a Pajero/montero, it will need to be the smaller pumpkin first generation.

Re: L300 Stretch updates
tacoma's are independent front ends aren't they??
You want a 1983 toyota front axle if or a Landcruiser (FJ40, 60, 62, 70 or 80s). Ask on BC4X4 or Pirrate lots of Toyota people on there.
I think the 5 speed has 4.88 gears, I could be wrong. I would pull the gears and count to be sure.
Please post lots of pictures of the swap.
