sirop d'erable

Le sirop d'érable est majoritairement produit au Canada - 83% de la récolte mondiale - particulièrement dans la province de Québec (75% de la production mondiale),

Bump: This just in!: A man was fined $70 in Quebec for playing street hockey with his kid and kids friends. Banning street hockey should really help the Habs get back to the Holy Grail of 'Ockey, T*b*rn*c! Apparently there was too much laughing from the children and it was causing a disturbance. CAR!.........................RHD CAR!

Hey!
The Montreal police just did their job. Everyone in Montreal knows that streets aren't for street hockey. It's for selling drugs.

Eewwww...... do I detect a note of cynicism?
Ricker, this means as much to me here in Columbia Britannique as it does to you in Quebec. As a young lad in BC ~ I was heard to cry out the word "Car!", it was part of my culture as it was in Quebec ~ perhaps the word was different but the message was the same. Tarmac and a tennis ball were ideal for acting out our fantasies.
You know I always had a fantasy for having a '68 Chevy van, SWB ~ and I often fantasized that it would be 4WD. Many years after the fantasy I have realised that dream, except it was built in Japan, which to me is an irony, as the world I grew up in was British North American and the only Japanese I experienced was either from Hollywood or Azzerro, the young man from Japan that came to be the house boy in our home, while he studied English in Vancouver.
I grew up with certain freedoms that were promised to me by guys like John Diefenbaker, or Lester B. Pearson, or Pierre Elliot Trudeau. They are gone now... so I guess it's up to us to keep the dream alive.

Now the Québec RHD ban is PERMANENT since April 24th 2010.The STUPID government of québec renewed the ban and we were
thinking that, again,it will be for six month with some modification in it.No,they make it permanent!
They change things for kei and it's now possible for people who had buy a rhd before 29 April 2009 that was not registered to register there rhd
with all the necessary proof until 31 march 2011.After that,no more RHD in Québec.I'm not really proud to be from this poor litlle province.
The APVIQ make a good job in this battle.Thanks.

So, in the end, and this is after my limited-french translation (and some help from my wife), it would seem Quebec didn't really study the issue of RHD, they just peddled the ICBC numbers (which were crap) and imposed a ban. Are there actually vehicle assembly plants in Quebec (we don't manufacture cars in Canada, we assemble them)? Where did all this pressure to exclude RHDs come from? How do they justify RHD public work vehicles and their seeming propensity for fewer accidents?
Hurray for civil code! Yes, that was sarcasm.

- "THEY CAME FIRST for the Communists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.
THEN THEY CAME for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.
THEN THEY CAME for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.
THEN THEY CAME for me
and by that time no one was left to speak up."
Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984)
Are they coming for the Right Hand Drivers? What about left handed people? Often in history these events have happened in places that one would least expect it to.

Quebec was really smart about this, by including people who previously bought, but hadn't registered, their RHD in the exemptions, they removed all the people with standing to sue over this illegal action.
Now to get legal standing to sue, someone must bring in another vehicle (since the ban started)
Previously when people contacted a lawyer about this illegal ban they were told it wasn't worth fighting because it was "temporary" (not that I believed that for even a second!) now that it's permanent I hope someone in Quebec will be willing to actually fight it.
of note:
- The law states that the minister may ban unsafe vehicles from Quebec roads
- The minister banned RHD despite them being no less safe (and I honestly believe safer) than LHD vehicles.
- as such the ban is illegal, unfortunately as nobody has challenged it, they are still getting away with it.

They don't justify anything. They are bothered by RHD and they decided to make the ministerial decree permanent. They are tired to work on this issue.
Just a bunch of pencils pusher brainwashed!Their study has been made on super sports car only. But in the end, they put everyone in the same boat:kei,suv,pick-up,van...
This study is even cheaper than the one from icbc.
Go see the link

Try the second one Falco.
My question still remains: who's interest was this in? Reading the 'announcement' (which seemingly has no link to the study) I see two things: kei vehicles are being specifically targeted because of lack-of-crash-testing (okay, that sounds fair), and JDMs between 15 and 25 years old are being targeted (notice that the notice indicates that vehicles over 25 are not subject to the prohibition). So, who's got a burr under their saddle because of the influx of JDMs?
