Well, last night I:

Installed water guage in dash pod, sensor on top rad hose (now reading bottom may be better)
Changed the oil/filter
Flushed the coolant, rinsed and re-filled, not too dirty
Turned down the fueling (been running a little smokey)
Reset the TPS and tightened the tranny kick-down cable, shifts are a little crisper now.
Installed Hella 500 black magic driving lights, can see a bit better now

Now, to find time to change the rear diff and transfer case fluids and to find out what the max wattage of oil pan heater I can install!

Drove away with the block heater still plugged in. Awesome. Wrecked and extension cord and bent the sh!t out of the ground on my block heater plug. Bent it back into a mangled state and it doesn't spark when I plug it in, can still hear it sizzling so I guess it is OK. I am an idiot some/most times. Anyone know where I can get the correct replacement cord to run to the block heater for when this one inevitably (and probably when it is -40) bites it? The cap says Pyroil on it but I can't find much about it.

Installed new door speakers 6" 120w Kickers with tweeters mounted on the A pillar near both "oh shit" handles.
Black backing on speaker grills are custom cut from an old black plastic notebook cover.

That looks sharp! I should use that notebook trick as a backing for my stereo unit!

Finally got my bumper finished up and put back on........... 3months later, just could not resist that bedliner s#%t!

Also put in new injectors and re-wired glow plugs (tossed bar and ran 4 seperate 10 gauge wires to each plug, good recommendation from Jfarsang). Had cold starting issue like many others, not sure if it was the new injectors or the plug wires that cleaned it up, no problems now!

Sadly also put it up for sale as well, much fun has been had, but likely posted to Quebec 2012, no time to finish it up after work, house and kids :(

Good times for someone else to finish up though! (just some minors really: oil leak (as per mess in photo, valve cover I think), cv inner boots (have, but no time to install), remainder of sweet stereo needs to be installed.

Have listed on Craigslist (victoria) and Delica Trader, would post sale in forums, but have to wait for the usual bickering to clear up (probably be able to post in forum early next year I would suspect, hehehe) Will miss the bickering actually.

I have a family friend as a kid who's mom drove away with 3 trouble lights attached to the car and twice drove it off blocks with the front wheels off (Husband was fixing it in all cases!).

But in all seriousness, most of that work was waiting for the fluids to drain and funnel back in and modifying the guage pod to fit a larger guage. Other than that its all routine stuff.

Get NGK CY55 (do not get the CY05) plugs out of UK (ebay UK), they are the same ceramic green tops as Mitsubishi OEM , only ones I have come across or heard of "for sure" and through experience that can handle the L400 2-3 min post burn. Some other plugs "fit", but are just not designed for 2-3 minute post burn like the L400 system has. 4M40 engines are not exclusive to the L400 and other 4M40 applications do not all have the same glow plug system. If you do try something else, be sure they are ceramic and self regulating......... or else "I told you so"

I have 3 brand new in box still that I would part with for $80 plus whatever shipping would be (I am in Comox Valley) if you are interested.

Test the ones you have before you get too excited though (used jumper cables as other posts show), plugs may be fine, may be corrosion or wiring issues (like I had). Jesse had quick and easy cleanup suggestion (worked for me), pull the bus bar and wire and replace with 4 separate wires (10gauge is good) one for each plug directly off the relay (stopped my cold start issue).

remember when changing glow plugs....... anti-seize and a torque wrench are your friends......

edit: and now realizing that you have a Pajero, confirm that the glow plug system works as per the L400 like mine, lol............. 5-7 sec when cold pre-start up and about 2-3 minutes post startup.

I realigned my bumper so my headlight covers will snap on for stone chips this winter, redid my front and rear sway bar bushings with polyurethane grease-able bushings and finished installing my oil sump heater>> all at night in the cold rain with a head lamp on!

I cleaned and lubricated my doors with Simple Green and Lithium lubricant (so dust won't stick to them) and sprayed my seals with silicone spray. It's amazing how much of a difference a 10 minute procedure like this makes!

Dealerships will tell you to just use a simple silicone spray from the hardware store so that's what I've done. I'd be interested to know what others are doing.
