I did the crankcase. I added it and drove around 30kms to buddies house then dropped the oil. He noticed how thin it made the oil and the chunks/globs coming out. He also added a little clean oil with drain plug out to "flush" more junk out. I did do the fuel system before though. Around November I think?

Cool. I have an oil changed penciled in my schedule this weekend so I think I will Sea-Foam it. Did you notice much more come out when you flushed with a little bit of the new oil? I am currently running 5w40 synthetic but I am going to try out the 15w40 on the next one here. I am changing my valve cover seal right before the oil change so I am hoping the heavier oil won't find it's way out of the seal.

With RichD at the helm, I ran 2 cans of seafoam from a container direct into the injection pump via the oulet/inlet hoses. Set idle at 1,400 until seafoam was almost gone. Took it out on the highway. Got it up to 140km/hr uber fast and pulling hard. Holy udders I have a turbo that was in a cryogenic state prior to the seafoam injection!

You must have done your other Sea Foam doses as well right? Stupid question, but if you did the IP how did it "wake up" your turbo?

Hey more stupid questions then- If one were to find the inlet and outlet where would they look? Do you just unattach the hoses going into and out of the fuel filter? That is the only part I am not to sure about - where do you find these hoses and hold the jug? You wouldn't happen to have any pictures or know of any relating to this and a delica would you?

Alright, I have performed my 1st Annual Spring Seafoam Fling. I first dumped a bottle in the crank case and ran it for about 60km and then dropped the oil. It was very thin and dark. Man did it ever help with the sound of the engine. The lifter noise vanished and it generally sounds quiet now. Then I drove the van until the empty light came on and performed an "Italian Tune-up" on it. My reasoning for this step was so it could clean all the way from the back (tank, lines,etc.) and burn out some of the sh!t that had been in there for 18 years. I drove it HARD and at times I caught myself doing 140 as the pedal actually seemed to work now. Then I put about 30 litres of fresh diesel in and 2 ounces of Howes and drove it home. Already it was a very noticable change. There was no more sputtering when I hit the pedal. Then I changed the fuel filter (to get rid of any crap that came from the tank) and put about a bottle and a quarter of Sea Foam into the filter. Started it up and it smoked a little, but nothing gigantic. Then I took it out for another 50km rip down highway 2. Very responsive now. I can actually accelerate onto the highway and not have people giving me dirty looks. Then I went back to the gas station and refilled with another 50 litres and 2 ounces of Howes (also went to pay for said diesel and realized my wallet was still on the work bench at home...awesome ). I am going to take it out for another burn tonight as I have to reaset all my radio stations now. Overall I am really impressed. I would recommend doing it to every Deli just to get it running the way it should. I don't think it is the snake oil that others suggest. It seems to make everything work better by cleaning the crap out of it. Me likey alot.

Do you put both intake and return lines into the same jar?

Approx how long until the jar is empty?

Ok, so just changed my fuel filter and filled it up with Seafoam and it took 1 1/3 cans to fill it up the rest went in the tank with less than a 1/4 tank of diesel and let it high idle for a bit then took it on the hwy for 25mins and then filled up and drove for another 20 mins and what a difference so far.....WAY less black smoke than before!. Was getting pretty bad compared to other safari's and delica's i've seen in town just hoping now it continues!

well... i finally decided to try it out. Did a straight poor into the tank. Wasn't much difference at first, but the next day... Holly smokes, it's a new car. Probably a 20hp addition to the engine i swear. Pulls better on hills and stop start. Amazing stuff.
Absolutely no smoke of any kind in the car. Not that there was much before (just start ups).

Next oil change i'm doing the whole deed.
