DELICA'S GLOW PLUGS

Hello everybody!
After a long paréntesis () while travelling around México and Central U.S., we are heading back to Vancouver! Yes, Vancouver has became one of our base camps (like Barcelona, Nairobi, Cape Town, Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile, Lima and México City), a special place with friends where we feel at home and we'll come back again and again!
Now we are heading to the Overland Rally, at Leavenworth, WA (27-30 june) and after that we'll cross the border.
We have a question about GLOW PLUGS. We have to change them, and we found that the NGK 2161 looks very similar to the original Mitsubishi Deli ones. It belongs to the Dodge D50, year 85, 2.3 liters. Someone has tried them?

You will be welcomed back to Vancouver, as always. There are two events coming up that you should be aware of (if you are not so already): 27th July ~ CVI Customer Appreciation Day; 1st August ~ Spanish Banks. The CVI meet would be particularly useful for technical reasons as there will be many people there with information about glow plugs. The Spanish Banks meet could be useful as well, should you still be here.

Hi Delis, tomorrow I'll go alone for a five days drive on the Hurley Drive. There's something I MUST see? Or a MUST camp?
By the way, next 3rd of September we are going to do a presentation at the Vancouver Public Library (at downtown) about the last 13 years en route. And we'll be the whole day there showing our beloved Cucaracha, our Delica 1991 left hand drive, double sided doors, Spanish plates, at the big sidewalk at one of the sides of the Library.
Any recommendation about the Hurley Drive?

When You say Hurley Drive, do you mean the Hurley Pass, north west of Pemberton? There are some great places up that way! One would be the Bralorne Mine, another is Goldbridge. Once you get to Goldbridge you cross a river and east is a big lake called Carpenter Lake. Drive east a little and once you cross a small creek (Gun Creek?) there's a camp site to your right, on the lake, very pretty site/sight. That drive is a stunningly beautiful one and will eventually come out at Lillooet, unless you turn right at the dam in which case it'll take you to the Seton Portage and D'Arcy areas... I really liked the drive to Lillooet, myself. Also, one thing to be mindful of is that there is active logging in the Hurley Pass area and those trucks can be quite a surprise coming around a corner on a road that just drops off of a cliff, so beware. If you're in town when you read this, Pablo ~ give me a call and I can show you maps. I'm in town this week... smiles.
Falco.

Next tuesday 3rd. september we'll be honoured to have
the first Delica exhibited at the Vancouver Public Library.
We'll be in front of the doors of the central passage, between 9-19 showing our beautiful 4x4 left hand drive, two sided doors, who have been all around the world during the last 13 years (Africa north to south, Middle East, Europe, the Americas from Tierra del Fuego to Alaska and Inuvik).
At 19 hs. we are going to give a presentation (sorry, it will be in spanish) where we'll show the best photos of 13 years en route, living in a Delica.
See you there!

Cool! That's on last Overland Expo, in Arizona, and we are talking with Chris Collard, the editor of Overland Journal. I've written several stories for them, and I've just sent them 3 new short stories for the magazine and we are preparing another two, longer ones.
Nvanadm, hope to see you at the Vancouver Public Library next tuesday!

Ei! Someone stopped us two weeks ago in Death Valley to explain us there was a very nice report about Around the World in 10 Years: The Book of Independence. I was really curious, and today we found the magazine (they also can get the books) at a Barnes and Noble in Las Vegas! We sold a lot of books on the last weeks through internet, and we are having really good feedback. We are very happy, and the Cucaracha too.
I leave you a link where you can get the book through Amazon.com:

Thank you for sharing it, and enjoy The Book of Independence!
