You can keep a simple carb in the spares if you have issues. Injected motors run so great and you will need electronics unless going with POINTS
I will run this by my engine dude
are you going to bolt all this under the delica Unibody? I would consider building a chassis with the axles, motor, etc mounted and lower the body on...adds a few hundred pounds but makes sense to me...
running both ideas at the moment
Toyota axles can handle mild v8...but you should up the u joints!!!
With the tricky placements of the driveshafts everything will be custom made, may go with CV joints
What transfer-case/transmission you going with?
minds gone blank of the transfer case,, ends in 17 LOL and has a PTO on it for the second rear axle.

YIPPEEEEEEEEEE I found my new engine (to me) today. It will be a fuel injected Chevy 305. I will be getting it rebuilt over the next couple of months. Now all I need is a transmission..

Too bad you won't toss in a TD42. I have a turnkey one I am selling. That would be epic.
Did you SAS it yet?

Not until the engine swap is done.

I don't have a tranny yet, the one on the vehicle now is for a 2WD so I'm looking. The engine (not to sure of date) is coming from a student who is a mechanic and he will rebuild it as well. I will be going with fuel injection so it should have the same H/P as a normally asperated 350. Anyone up for a 6 wheel burnout????
As for the boys, no problems... They will have fun at school with their adventure..

Question, if it has not been proposed already.
The amount of work it is taking you to literally re-design/fabricate the entire running gear and drivetrain, why not just mount the L300 body you created onto an already working platform with large engine, axles, driveshafts, frame,etc.. ?
I would have thought it can cut your time and money invested a lot.

We are playing with just that idea.

I would get a chassis from a Ford F350 and build it up then slip it under and figure out the steering
Problem with 6 wheel drive you would have to go to duce to get 6x6 which might be too much truck to fit under?
What does SuperExceed weigh? Did you ever drive it over a closed scale?
I like C channel frames over boxed given the mud rust problems associated with box frames....

I would have thought you jumped on this Hino. Almost a perfect measurement !!!!!!!!! It looks big but it's actually quite a small footprint.
Last I heard it was selling for cheap over on bc4x4
http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/t ... 6-platform
This is his contact info: 604-722-0175
http://vancouver.canadianlisted.com/car ... 86221.html
Due to financial reasons I need to sell the hino, the only changes that have been done are the exhaust manifold was removed and machined, and I bought a hino gas tank and brackets for the tank. will consider trades with cash, $8000 firm
Location: mission

New engine will be here end of Feb This means I have a 133 KM engine, transmission, and transfer case for sale.
Actually I have two transfer cases
Would prefer to sell drivetrain as one unit $2K or $1.750.00 you pull it yourself.
Second transfer case $200

I haven't read through the entire post, but i was wondering if someone had brought up the fact that to drive any three axle vehicle (except an RV) you would need a class three license?? You would have to put in a bed/stove/fridge and convert it to RV status so you don't get into poop. My understanding is that any three axle vehicle is considered to be for commercial applications unless it is an RV, then it is obviously no longer for commercial purpose. My friend is going through that right now registering the Volvo C306 he just imported.

Arnold I have the 3 pages that the autoplan dealer uses to figure out if it is an RV. It has to have 3 of 5 items...the pages say what to accept and what to fail. For example: if propane appliances are used the vehicle propane system must be certified prior to being accepted.
Let me know if you need them it is easy to switch to RV..
