Removed the trailer hitch from Blueberry. It was a hood destroyer waiting to happen. And seeing as I have no trailer, I figured I could save some weight. Turned out the hitch was about 40lbs.
Previous owner lost keys so removal involved crappy little hacksaw. Took nearly and hour. Now icing shoulder.

I just noticed something.... "What did you do WITH your..." has 4 pages of posts and "What did you do TO your..." has 15 pages.
I guess its confirmed.. people like fixing their transportation devices more than the like using them for transportation. Sort of funny if you really think about it.

Today I did some body work on my 400's roof to fix a huge scratch from a garage door opener.
I noticed that I put this post in the wrong thread so I moved it to this one

Fixed my sunroof _Again_. I put a little locktite on the screws this time, and lubricated everything.

Re: What did you do TO your Delica today?
Had 5 new 265 75R16 BF Goodrich TA KO tires installed (was going to go with 285's but figured the aesthetic look of bigger tires was not worth the $, stress on my transmission, calibration of speedo and odom, and poor fuel economy. I also installed poly bushes had CVI replace my tie rod ends and installed my tough dog RTC steering damper!!!!!!!!!!.. WOW what a difference! Love it!

Re: What did you do TO your Delica today?
I put a bed in the back of my L400, using the idea I found that someone posted on photobucket at this link:
http://photobucket.com/images/Delica+L400+LWB+bed/
Mine is a little taller - I can fit a tall Rubbermaid tote (or two stacked half sized ones) underneath the bed, and I put the legs on hinges so I can fold them up out of the way when storing the bed, or move them out of the way to fit large bulky items under it. It also hinges near the front as shown in the pictures so I can still carry 3 other bodies with me some place.
I just used the bed for the first time this week - excellent! Very functional, and easy to get at the stuff underneath. Now to find curtains and a rear wiper...
Enjoy the pics!

- Folded for passenger cartage - this is how I run it with a 3" foamy in it, so it doesn't crease the mattress. Also forms a bulkead to prevent forward movement of cargo in the event of a sudden stop.

Re: What did you do TO your Delica today?
I have a rear wiper for a Deli believe it or not. I picked one off a scrap and was hoping to use it on my Pajero because the Pajero rear wiper couldn't be replaced without replacing the arm. Didn't work. I even sanded the rust, refinished it, painted it and everything. Its yours if you want it..GTC wrote:Now to find curtains and a rear wiper...

Re: What did you do TO your Delica today?
Had a subwoofer box taking up space/being a pain sitting on the bed i'd built in the back. Basically every time we wanted to sleep back there I'd have to find a place for the box.
Not anymore!
Over the weekend I took a jigsaw to the thing and cut it down in size just enough to fit underneath the bed - fit it up into the corner behind the driver's seat where we couldn't really store anything anyways, so I'm quite happy to have it hidden and out of the way, and not have to move it anymore when we go camping!
Also got a steal-of-a-deal on a nice 50W solar panel from my bro, so that combined with my separate deep cycle battery and 1400W inverter will provide us will all the AC current we need all summer! I plan to 'hide' the battery under the bed as well, and mount the inverter nicely in the back. The solar panel will probably get a soft mount in the rear side window, so it can charge while we're driving, but it will also need to be removable so we can get it in full sun when we set up camp.
Heading to Creston tomorrow for May long, our first 'real' camping trip of 2012 - looking forward!

Re: What did you do TO your Delica today?
Hit my windshield washer sprayer nozzle and knocked it so it became very loose. I ended up using quicksteel to secure it and tilted it up a bit more in the process so the spray hits the windshield in a better position. Once that was dry I went around the whole assembly with black silicone. It`s looking good now!

Why? Did you do it on purpose so that you could adjust the spray?nxski wrote:Hit my windshield washer sprayer nozzle and knocked it so it became very loose.

Re: What did you do TO your Delica today?
I was washing bugs off the windshield a little too vigerously and hit it. The adjustment was just something I did while I had the chance. Unfortunately I went overboard with the passenger side one and now it goes right over the windshield and onto the roof. I think further adjustment will be required.nvanadm wrote:Why?
