Agreed Falco!
I am half way finished building a raised platform that will cover the entire rear area to accomodate queen-sized sleeping arrangments for me and my GF.
Recycling old scrap wood, so it won't be pretty, but will be functional and sturdy. I've raised it up enough to clear the wheel wells, which will also give us storage underneath
I removed the bench and captains chairs from the rear, so it looks like our wagon will only be a 2-seater for the next while!
I will post some pics when I'm finished!

Here is my version. A twin bed for 2, 5 seats and everything else you need to get rid of boxes, crates, bags etc. The furniture is out of the van now for a finishing touch. More pictures HERE.

With two kids (8 and 6) , I can't fathom sleeping inside our van. It would feel super cramped and i am borderline claustrophobic. I'm impressed with some of the cool setups you guys have, which I can dig from a gear storage perspective. We bought our deli because we need it to get us places we can camp, ride and hike . We've been sleeping in tents forever, so maybe we're just more comfortable sticking with what we know.

Re: Let's see your sleeping arangements inside your Delica!
yeah, these set ups really are for single or double occupancy's, plus a dog maybe. now way you can cram a family of 4 (big kids) w/out a pop up like a westy (which sleeps 4). folding the seats all flat worked perfectly for our roady out west, no curtains so i sometimes used a tarp over the van for some privacy. with have little kids and i'm gettin ideas of how we can manage an infant and toddler in there IF we packed super effiiciently (i made up a hanging crib once for our son, this can be for baby while junior sleeps between us with the seats folded flat. gear up front and under the seats and back.
sweet set ups! diggin all the handywork! thanks for sharing!
edit: shoot never mind, we've got 2 car seats, that just screws up the space and practicality of setting up...:( back to the tents, lol.

Re: Let's see your sleeping arangements inside your Delica!
I hope my slideout design will hold 2 adults and 2 children (kids are on order) without using the raised roof area for sleeping until the kids are 10 plus. With my removable steering wheel should allow board across the front seats for 2 kids....
With the slide out I have 4 passenger seating (2 passenger stock bench).
Here is too hoping...

Attention Delica Camper convertors...
I am currently Dismantling our Familly 92 Rockwood Tent Trailer to convert to a Utility Trailer as its too heavy too pull behind the Delica (The particle Board sides are Delaminated and water Logged)Anyways the Canvas's, Cabinets,Cushions, sink, toilet, fridge. ETC are still in great shape and would propably work great for camperizing Mods..Up for Grabs.I am Located in kelowna and can box up and ship....
Cost..Free and no HST(Just Shipping expenses).I will try and post some Pics tonight.
cheers,

Hi Dennis, if the fridge and sink are available, please please hold for me. I want to make a kitchenette like Almac's. I will be near you on July 4 or 6th or 7th, as we canoe the Nicola and Kettle rivers. Cheers, Christine Lambert (no relation?)

Christine
Hope to see your fridge at the swap meet. The only place I could put my fridge was the front passenger seat. Now my wife doesn't want to ride in the back. Ha Ha
