It would be, but it is not a overnight drive from Vladivostock

No, only 6х6 or 8х8, from Vladivostok is easier by sea, though from Vancouver likely would be closer and is cheaper

After this trip, we are planning to go from Alaska to Argentina..so we can stop in Kamchatka.

Here is a update about Russian part of our trip.
We will enter Russia near Krasnodar in late march 2012.
Krasnodar - Sochi - Mineralnye Vody - Volgograd - along river Volga to Niznij Tagil - Yekaterinburg - Kazakhstan - Pamir Highway - Kazakhstan - Novosibirsk - Altai Mountains - Krasnoyarsk - Irkutsk - Lake Baikal - Chita - Khabarovsk - Vladivostock.
We will leave Russia in the end of October.
I can speak Russian and we will have local guides/ my friends/ for most of the trip, so we should have a lot of fun and vodka.
Anyone fancy to join us?
