Only if you learn Canadian English first. :?

Of course you can attend! Just because you don't have a vehicle doesn't mean you can't come look at all of ours. And all the things you'll learn from attending will get you ready for the '85s that'll be available to you for next year, or the '86s for 2012.
Are there any meets scheduled in the Vancouver area in the next few weeks or so? I would love to drive up there & enjoy the beauty of Canada & the fun vehicles to check out! :M I also wanna get my stickers 8-)

:M Looks like there is one in Victoria, & I would be crossing the Anacortes-Sidney, BC ferry. I'm just wondering if it's still a go, because it seems like the thread doesn't seem very active... :?

Also, I don't believe I have properly introduced myself!
My name is Daniel, I am a total car NUT, and I live close to the water in Everett, WA, USA. I have lived in 5 states, traveled across the US a few times, & only been to Canada twice. I love to drive, & long distance is no problem for me besides gas... Ugh, I want a Diesel! I have owned several older cars, so I know a little about maintenance headaches, & 2 of my cars were Diesel-powered! :-D

If there is anything you guys want to know about me, depending on how personal it is, just ask. Oh, yeah... I am single

EDIT: A few more interesting things about me... I am a Christian, I don't smoke, drink, I am drug-free, I am addicted to Mountain Dew  and I have been in/worked in the largest building in the world!

I am going to find a RI in Washington, & see if I can get them to petition the Government to allow the Delicas to be imported into the States without the 25 year restriction. There has to be some way to get them down here, since Canada has approved them & they meet Japan's strict safety laws! :-D

Canada has a 15-year rule compared to the 25-year rule in America. And it has WAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY more to do with local market protectionism than it does whether the vehicle is up to safety standards (either ours or yours).

You will not succeed unfortunately.

It has nothing to do with the vehicle type/make.

It's all politics at a high level.

Canada has not approved of Delica's. Delica's just fall under the same category as a passenger vehicle and is admissible solely because it is older than 15 years old.

You can import Delica's (starting in 1986) in 2011 (next year) into the US.

How well I know about the Government's protectionist agenda, seems many imports were run off our shores for this very reason, Peugeot, for example, haven't sold cars in the states for a couple decades! Also, the Citroen SM got ugly round headlights when they were imported in the 70's, because the standard headlights were "dangerous" :-D What a joke! While I am not totally anti-government, I still hate a lot of the things our collective leaders are doing!

Does anyone have some pictures of a 1986 Delica, inside & out? I would like to check one out...
Actually, I wish I could see one in person, & maybe test drive it. :-D

Is anyone on this board who owns a Delica going to be taking a trip through Washington soon, & wouldn't mind meeting somewhere to show me the Van up close? :-) I know where there is a nice large Wal-Mart parking lot that is usually not very full, just off the I-5 in Marysville! I would love to set up a meet there with any & all who would like to drive down (or up, as the case may be), Delica or not... Just an idea I've been tossing about in me head for a while... 8-)
