It's not the greatest location to be honest, but the gauges that are in there aren't one's I'd be looking at on a regular basis. The Voltage meter is great for battery/alternator issues. I'd thought of putting an amp meter in there, I just hate installing those things as they sketch me out a bit! It would help alot with diagnosing alternator health (which for me was recently an issue!). I've got oil pressure in there (which is the only really crucial one) as well as another water temperature which I'm not sure I really need to be honest. I'm going to check on the transmission temperature range and see if I can use this gauge to monitor that. What I could do with future ones is possibly vacuum form the plate so the gauges are tilted up on an angle towards the driver. But the angle wouldn't be too extreme as the gauges would most likely hit stuff in the dash. I don't know if it'd be worth the extra effort though.

Fair enough, my gauges were Pyro (quite important to me) and boost (more of a cool factor than anything but helpful to dial in my boost which I had topping at 20psi...)

Angle of the gauge would help for sure.

Ya these are just little guy's (1 1/2") you'd be hard pressed to fit anything much larger than that in a single DIN slot. I'd probably want 2" or larger for those two gauges (or get a combined gauge). I'm going to mount my boost gauge on the dash to the right of the steering wheel. I may make an A pillar pod (vacuum formed) as I don't think there are any of those out there that fit the angle of our windshields. If I do that I'll also start selling those. My wife hates the nasty armrests though so I'm forced to tackle that job first!
