There are many vehicles with the same closed-loop system both domestic (NA) and Euro/JDM.
Just like with any of them, the coolant expansion tank should always be checked when doing routing maintenance for brittleness, cracking and color fading.

Also check the radiator <-> expansion bottle plug for breakage. (see my old one below).

You did that too eh, I broke both ends (the one on the radiator tank too)

Common on all Delica's both L300 and L400 that have been sitting for some time in Japan.
Just wanted to add to this, I believe the cause of injector pump seal issues in oz was the "lack" of sulphur in our fuel compared to the Japanese stuff.... don't know what your fuel has in it tho???

And want to reinforce your statement...........

These are old vehicles when we buy them and you can't be sure if the previous owner has maintained it adequately, experience has shown you can be lucky tho :-)

Not quite correct :-(
L400 Series 1 Started 1994
L400 Series 2 Started 1997 (facelift)
D5 Started 200? (this is a different shape)

Yup, Dodge is going to build, badge engineered (and with an ugly front end) in Mexico, called the 1000. See http://www.allpar.com/world/mexico.html at the very bottom.

No one knows if any parts will be interchangeable with our genuine L300s.

Thanks everyone.....I do appreciate it.

I actually went ahead with a 93 and will post some pics soon. There was one locally here in Nova Scotia (very rare) and in great shape in and out. 83000km

Has anyone used a product called HAUS.....not sure on the spelling....

I have been told it may be a good product to add to the diesel after fueling up to help the engine since it wasn't designed to run on the clean burning stuff of today. Has anyone used this or heard of it?

Also going to change it to Synthetic as well and get it under coated.
