Great event! Good turnout of some familiar friends and new faces. Each time I go to one of these things I put at least one face to a username and today I did several -
Finally met Sailing deli, a fellow Campbell Riverite who's bus I've seen regularly for a year and a half but we had never spoken. And it was really fun to have Elliot, a prospective deli owner, show up and get smothered in enthusiasm and advice - We'll be watching for your "meet my new bus" thread soon Elliot! There was even a bus from Manitoba there - enjoy the wind at your back and the refited motor on your way home guys! Lots of dogs for Penny Lane to sniff too, so everyone was entertained

Oh, and I finally saw an L-400...
Thanks again Glen, John, Graham and family and to all who came out and participated - Already looking forward to next year!

It was indeed a good day! Fine weather, cool vehicles and pleasant company!
...By the way, Does anyone need a (18-20) XL RMI/ CCA T-shirt? I accidentally grabbed an XL intended for a smaller person, so no shiny t shirt for me!

As mentioned it was nice to be able to put a face over some of the names and handles we all know one another by in cyberspace.
Thanks to Glen and Co. for donating your time and space for the event. I'm off down to Mx again this week so will not be able to make any other meets for some time. Saludo's y Felicidades a Todo's.

Some ridiculous deals on parts and odds and ends.
Cannot believe I scored that table from the options catalogue.
Graham (Glen's Dad) was overrun with people for a bit
at the "garage sale",but managed to stay composed!

So, another gathering of the faithful has taken place, we all drank the kool-aid, and then we all left promising to return in a year. Like the druids of old... sorry, that was another festival I went to this summer... like the children of the mud... oops, different generation. Anyway, wasn't that good kool-aid?
I've got to go to work now so I'll post more later. For those who are bit puzzled: yes, I took the three threads and merged them into this one, just so there won't be double-posting all over the place. So if the posts seem a little disjointed at the end, that's why, but at least they're all in the same place now and now new posts will be in order.

Okay, here it is, my post on the gathering: NIFTY and COOL.
The table of shame and dismay was once again laid out for all to see. Glen patiently went around the table and detailed the items there, as well as the injection pumps on the other table, and the engine on the dolly.
Glen's dad, Graham, was out by the tow truck peddling wares. Even though the bulk of the items were on for a dollar (a spatial reclamation program apparently), I think CCAutos still made money thanks in no small part to Luna-Sea. In fact, Joe loaded so many Deli-parts into the back of his van that I suspect he left it there to get the suspension beefed-up before he drove it home.
While a few crowd favourites were missing this year, Falco and Delicat, there were plenty of new faces, and even someone all the way from Manitoba. Also, a prospective buyer was assailed from all sides with glowing reviews while she was trying to get information from Glen on what to look for when purchasing.
Finally, there was the camping afterwards (and the drinking). Glen may have 5 acres, but with the proper technology and equipment, only a few square metres were occupied (as can be seen in the accompanying image). Of course, the TardisDeli transcendentally dimensioned the smallest amount of space possible, thereby protecting its travelers from the ravages of time and space, while the Moon Machine and Star Wagon were optimally positioned to shield its occupants from the searing rays of the morning sun.
Oh yes, and I nearly forgot: I drove an L400. As I told Ron, I can't talk 5h!t about his van if I don't at least take it for a spin. It's okay, but I'll stick to my L300. The SWB Pajero that David brought: sweet! I had fun driving that. And there was even a VW Syncro which wandered its way onto the property (it was almost as cool as an L300).

Thanks for a great time last weekend. It was nice to finally meet some of the people on the forum who's post I have been reading for awhile. Even though I took a bit of a ribbing as the only 400 owner there it was still an enjoyable day. Big thanks to Glen and John for putting on the event. I did come away with some great ideas on what to do to my van to make it more user friendly when going camping. I look forward to meeting some of you again in the future.
Regards

Here I am. The week on the Island was awesome and I will try to post some nice shots in a separate thread later.
It was a real pleasure meeting all attendees of the annual meet in CC Autos and of course the hosts Glen and family and John. Here are some pictures to bring up the spirit of the event. My favorite one is Mararmeisto looking fit for 'a bun' - L400.
