LED-marker lights.... I thought on the picture that Delicar300 posted that his were waaaayyy brighter than mine... but after using a long shutter last night in the dusk, mine come out pretty bright too.... :-D

If anybody is interested, I got these lights (they go right into the regular bulb sockets, no soldering required) at Aberdeen Auto in Burnaby (they import a lot of stuff from Hong Kong).

In addition I found this website http://www.dealextreme.com/products.dx/category.712 - ships directly from Hong Kong - usually about 10 days... cheap and good... can only say good stuff about this site... and I ordered a whole whack of stuff from them already....

As for my auto-trans shifter modification, I am slowly getting into the final stretch.... thanks to some input from Delicar 300!

Image
This is the shifter-stick how I had it first... way too long.... but the hacksaw did the rest....
Image
New Shifter Set-Up.... made the "stick" on the auto-shifter-lever much shorter (and looks much better in my opinion)

Chris,

Nice job on the stick mods. Did you turn the knobs yourself or was it a kit?

Thanks Golf-Cart,

I didn't machine the knobs myself... (I'd love to be able to do that kind of stuff though...)

Got the one for the 4WD selector at CT ($ 14.99) and the other one for the tranny-shifter with the release /lock button built in, I picked up somewhere years back (initially intended for my then "fun-ride" 1971 Chevy Impala Custom Coupe - but never used on that machine) - but I can't remember where I got it (probably also CT or maybe Lordco or something?...)...

CT has a whole selection of various different type shifter knobs in their "locked up section..." - pretty much something for every taste...

I actually took my new 4WD selector knob to Vancouver Engravers so that they can engrave the shift pattern... the other day I suddenly wasn't sure if I had it in 4WD when just staring down at the lever (can you believe that? :? ...) while cruising on dry pavement... of course it wasn't - but it's these moments where you sometimes just doubt yourself....

And if somebody else were to drive the Van (my wife for example) I would want them to know where to shift to get 2H, 4H, 4L etc.

Cheers,
Chris

the year I started racing it ended fast. i had seperated my shoulder on day of training run.
that would be 2003. now all i do is shuttle, bbq, and drink beer. and a bit of XC.

maybe Sam Hill's change over to Spec. and the Demo 8 will make you want to try the updated 26x26. :-)

oh, and the Palmer was my hero as well because he did the 2 sports I love, DH and Snowboard.
which by the way he's back but riding for Intense.

Ever make your way back to the North Shore send me a PM.

Sorry for the derrail Delicats. :M

I would like to try a new specialized but not the one with the extra swingarm on the back... looks too bulky, hope they have a new design similar to the FSR.
I will definately give you a call if i come to the north shore, thanks for the offer!! :-D

I have to admit that the photos don't tell the whole truth...
The LED square block shown in the photo isn't the ones in the van for the 'night' photo.
The photo at night of the powerful beam are actually a 'newer' style LED light block and bigger. They use more powerful LEDs and the LEDs are smaller packing in more LEDs in one square block (will try to post some photos later).
I had just used a normal digital camera and took the photo without the flash :-)

I totally understand haha....
I always keep the original 4wd shifter knob in the middle armrest compartment so i can see the shift pattern incase i need to shift but forget the pattern.
If your not sure wether in 4wd then just look at the dash 4wd lights, if on then you are in 4wd! :-)
