Quick Update.

I am still on the case! I have visited the metal supply and found both 1" and 1.125" tubing.
I realize a bit smaller than the Terzo but that's what was available.
I have been doing some trial bending, using both tubing and what not, getting a prototype together (pics when it is complete). I will be looking for more feed back at that point.

The ladders will be in the $200 range and this may go up or down slightly based on how fast I can make them when I am all set up.

I am prioritising a P35 model (high roof) ladder first but will be able to get to the low roof a bit later on (July).
This is the same situation for the Racks.

Sounds good so far, the price seems pretty fair. Oh, I thought of another thing to keep in mind ... some people have the wind deflector / spoiler on the tailgate. The Terzo does not conflict with that. Not sure how hard it is to take into account, or if anyone close to you has a spoiler so you can see the spacing. I don't have spoiler, so not too relevant. But my rack does come close to the tailgate, so too high-rise a ladder could be an issue.

Well,
I am finally wrapping up my year end stuff at school and admittedly the swell has been absolutely perfect up here for the last three weeks so I am finally getting some time to accomplish things!

I have created a prototype that I am pretty happy with. It is tig welded 1 1/8" Aluminum tubing with Stainless brackets and hardware.
I have tried to keep the hardware to a minimum so as you can see there is really only the two bottom brackets, two washers, and two nylocks for actual hardware.

The top brackets will be riveted on and therefore fairly unadjustable. The ladder really only fits one location on the door so this should be fine.

As far as fit is concerned this is for the high roof model (p35). It will fit the Crystal lite roof vans but I seriously doubt if it will fit with a spoiler.

The ladders will come powder coated black or white. Alternate colors are somewhat negotiable based on availability however this may cost slightly more.

Speaking of price it will be $200 as already previously posted for the Basic ladder which includes the hardware and powder coat as well paint saver pads on contact surfaces.

If you would like the model with the Top Mesh Step it will be $225 as it takes me a bit more time and materials to do.

In terms of availability these next two weeks are somewhat cramped for time but I hope to get a dozen or so done. This batch will probably be heading for the mainland as my family and I will be heading to Quesnel for my Father in-laws birthday.

After that I will have more available mid to late July and those will be available on the Island. Depending on demand I will be making other trips this summer as well so things can be arranged. Barring that there is always Greyhound!

As I have already posted I will be working on a low roof model in the near future (mid July).

I can show more pictures as well if any one would like.

Let me know if you see any glaring errors on my part or I have missed something out!

I will start compiling a list of people who would like one so if you PM with your contact info and ladder type that you would like (basic or with the top step) so I can keep it organized and professional.

Andy

By the way I realize my van looks atrociously dirty. That's because it is. This is what comes of being a surfer on the North Island!

Hey the laddder looks great! I'm in Edmonton but will be in Telegraph Cove July 12-18. Any chance I could arrange to have a ladder ready to pick up? I could mail you a bank draft asap no prob.
Also looking for a rook rack/basket if you have one.
Cheers and have a great weekend!
Erik.

Well, I picked up the first batch of ladders from powder coat and they look good.

After some assembly I took a few more shots:

So I have the first 8 ready to go. I will be in contact with you if you have already spoken for a ladder.

The bad news is that the price will be going up for the next batch. Unfortunatly the costs where a little higher than originally anticipated (aren't they always) If you have already contacted me the price will be the same as I orignally quoted you but from now on the basic ladder powder coat black or white will be $250 and if you would like the mesh step it will be $275. I am sorry to have to do this.

I have also been busy on racks here are a couple pictures of one of them:

If you are interested in either a ladder or a rack contact me via PM. I can also discuss via PM different options and pricing for racks
