Love to see your new van and compare with mine. Newer is always better. PM me if you have any questions.

Trying to tackle this job; changing my side indicator lights to remain on full time until the indicator switch is on however I'm having some issues. The below quote doesn't help any.. and this link http://intdata.homeip.net/gallery/delica-mods no longer works :-(

I've hooked up the side marker lights to power from the other front marker lights right beside the headlights so they illuminate full time.. problem is they stay on even when I hit the indicator switch rendering it useless. Any pointers on where or what power source I need to tap into to make my signals work? Any info would be helpful.

Why would you want to wire up your turn signal (or part of it) to be on all the time? How would you get the attention of the guy on the other side of the lane your about to pull into, if they are on all the time?

I'll try to explain what I'm trying to achieve a little bit better.. The goal is to have the side marker lights illuminated while the the turn signal switch is not activated. When the turn signal switch is activated, the side marker would then blink off and back on repeating until the corner is made. At that time the side marker light would be constant again.

... I thought this was a mandatory requirement to pass the OOP inspection? Or am I just making more work for myself here?

I've only seen one or two Delicas with the side indicator wired on all the time. I really cannot see what benefit making your indicator a side marker, this part being a projecting light to boot. Kind of like wiring the police car's emergency lights so they are just on all the time. How would one know if they were in an emergent operation or driving to Timmy Ho's? There are three aspects to the front indicators: The front end one that blinks for the benefit of the oncoming traffic; then there's the blinking side mounted indicator that protrudes from the side lamp assembly for the benefit of the drivers at the quarter views; then there's the one that your wanting to wire on ~ it grabs the attention of the driver to your right. Say for instance you are on a highway that has three or more lanes going one direction and you want to change lanes from the inside lane to the centre lane ~ the lamp is meant to catch the eye of the driver in the outside lane whose thinking the same idea as you. It also reflects onto the lane you're moving into, which, when it's dark out, gives the guy in that lane but behind you a better idea of where exactly you are going.

I think it's necessary to have side reflectors but I can't imagine the Motor Vehicle Branch requiring cars to wire their indicators to be on. Where would they go next ~ the brake lights? Could you imagine what would happen if brake indicators were wired on all the time? Indicators are a very important part of driving. By law you must let everyone know what your intentions are when you drive (not that everyone does that).

What about all the Cadillacs and such that have the same signal configuration? It's a pretty universal signal configuration.
