Fuel Consumption

hey guys and gals
My Delica uses between 8.6 and 10 litres/ 100 kilometres dependant on conditions. Loaded with up to a thou Lbs. she sucks back 10 per 100 kms. on the highway but in city/flat land/mostly highway sucks back 8 (best). Top gear (automatic), low RPM, 80-90 km (boring) seems the best fuel mileage.

My last tank took $80.00 from my pocket at $1.44/litre. I always shake the van to get the most fuel in the tank just to be consistent in figuring fuel mileage and usually leave 15 litres in the tank at fill up time. One day I'll push the envelope to vapours to see how far i can drive. I'm afraid to fill the filter with gumbo or have to purge the diesel lines of air.

I run 30" BFGs and one day hope to own a GPS to actually find out how accurate my speedo is.

The only thing I am certain of is my best mileage is going downhill and my worst mileage is when I have to pay for a tankful!
