Hi All Deli-coholics, So now that you've seen the photos posted of the fun everyone had on our Stave Lake convoy (March 1st) ... now imagine double that fun as the Adrock's Harrison Trek is longer -- more time to chat & compare. & make friends.
Things we learned today now ready to use on "Adrock's Expediton":
We perfected the art of towing pals out of self-inflicted bogs (note to self -- It is really fun to watch when you send the driver in their Bare Feet into the muck of snow melt mud to Hook On the tow line -- the pain on their face ensures you won't see them driving incautiously into uncharted areas for a while).
Of course, less chance to tow on the Harrison Road as more civilized, but the reassurance of knowing how to do it is A Good Thing.
And we watched a fun FUN FUN food heating technique from Coaxial -- no not telling yet -- come on this Harrison trip for a demo. I am partial to my microwave and inverter as installed in the Tardis.
Compared various storage boxes people have built. Stuart built a perfect sturdy wooden box to fit in the wasted space under the rear beach that works on both bench normal and bench folded. Jay TardisDeli built a box to replace the rear bench and enable comfortable sleeping for tall folk.
Even in rain, we stood around under the open rear tailgates and stayed dry with easy access to food and stuff. Bring your folding chairs and it is very cozy.
FRS family radio walky-talky were shared amongst each deli -- fun to chat while driving -- hey look at the head's spin on the golfers as we convoy past -- what rpm revolutions are people doing on this hill -- what is your thermostat needle showing -- how much black smoke is normal from the deli's in front of you. All those technical questions immediately answered.
And just meeting up with such nice people -- and the wide ranging interesting conversations we get into on all sorts of topics.
So, come on deli-ites, mark your calendar now, find your camping gear (best prices & selection at Army & Navy now -- they have it all, New West has free parking at back), get a queen size chunk of foam or an airmattress (walmrt), stock up on tin can food so no-fuss cooking. Bring an extra layer of warm clothes for true happiness. Stockpiling a milk crate of firewood to contribute to the group campfire, we have long metal toasting forks for your marshmallows.
I Look forward to meeting more new owners -- come on out. Most of us didnt know each other before last week so this is definitely a chance to make new friends.
Don't make me have to bribe with rice-crispy squares again -- this time they'll be made while around the campfire - yyuummm (we bring our portable wood stove so weather is not a problem).
Cheers Christine and Jay of the TardisDeli.
PS: Welcome all out-of-town deli's -- welcome to sleep in our house before / after. Secure parking in our back yard.
