Just completed and installed easily no real tricks to know just have all your tools ready. I placed an 80mm hole in the panel to allowo wriggle room for final alignment and threw out the supplied mounting screws and went up a gauge to stainless self drillers.
The snorkel came from Mark at the Delica shop and was hassle free. A last minute mod was to get the dremmel out and flip the intake grill over so that it was a slicker look. Its still on a dry fit until I throw out the stock air box and replace with a sealed K & N filter (search for their Apollo Filter), paint finish the snorkel black and finish a few other mods in this area.
Definite improvement with out science attached from fuel use, look and sound.
After much reading and indecision I went for the flat version as there is so much debate about whether ram air is or isn't an effect and i can't move my racks because of the awning over the other side it didn't seem to warrant the effort for a traditional snorkel head.
