Just completed and installed easily no real tricks to know just have all your tools ready. I placed an 80mm hole in the panel to allowo wriggle room for final alignment and threw out the supplied mounting screws and went up a gauge to stainless self drillers.

The snorkel came from Mark at the Delica shop and was hassle free. A last minute mod was to get the dremmel out and flip the intake grill over so that it was a slicker look. Its still on a dry fit until I throw out the stock air box and replace with a sealed K & N filter (search for their Apollo Filter), paint finish the snorkel black and finish a few other mods in this area.

Definite improvement with out science attached from fuel use, look and sound.

After much reading and indecision I went for the flat version as there is so much debate about whether ram air is or isn't an effect and i can't move my racks because of the awning over the other side it didn't seem to warrant the effort for a traditional snorkel head.

Hey Erich,

You can put me on the list for one of these low profile snorkels. It sounds like you might have a bit of a connection with this guy in Australia?? If the price was a little more reasonable, I'd be in for sure. And as I mentioned earlier, the only real rust spot that needs fixing on my van is right where you would drill the hole for this thing. Problem solved.... 8-)

I'm not sure what it looks like behind the metal where the air cleaner is. So I can't speak to how difficult it would be to install with you also having the oil separator in there. I'm sure it can be made to fit somehow.....

Phil

Hey, Phil, I just got a box from Mark at Delicashop with my sliding window gaskets, so I've got that all set up. I'm still working on some other mods, so have not decided yea or nay on the snorkel. The oil separator will have to go, so I'm going to wait and see if my oil consumption problem is oil getting vented, or if it is bad valve guide seals. If the latter, I'll get an order of snorkels together.

speleokip, do you think you could post some photos of how the piping on the inside attaches to the air cleaner?
