I just had my van pass an inspection with enviroimports' lights. I thought they were pretty nice and the garage said they were the only ones they've seen fit so well.

Well you wouldn't think it would be an issue, after all it is completely clear that they are okay. Oh that must be the problem we are talking about the government and things making sense! :-) I think the issue is that left headlight has a arrow pointing to the left and the right headlight has an arrow pointing to the right. If they both pointed to the right or if they both pointed both directions then it would be okay, apparently.

Hi, In an atempt to help out two delica owners I have managed to hurt my self, I have sold two single headlights for people that have lost them to flying rocks, and now im left with two drivers side ones, so I am sold out of pairs until the end of January when i get back from our buying trip to japan and our holliday. I can get the old style ones, but as you all know they blow out in a day or two and dont fit great, in some I have even seen thread from people glueing the lenses on the front, shabby lights all around, I only want to sell the new versions but sadly im out of them until I return.

Well this is what I can tell you about Alberta. They will pass one headlight, but not the other. I have talked to several people from the DOT and they said any headlights with a single arrow pointing to the right, regardless of the E4 marking, it will not pass. If you know of a government official in BC that is passing headlights with E4 markings and a single arrow on the right hand headlight that is pointing to the right let me know as the guy I spoke with would be happy to talk to them to figure out if these headlights are actually okay.

Thanks

phone Brian Kanga, or Mike Woods, they are the top of the food chain here for import regulations/bc compliance,, and no im not posting there phone number , they would not be happy to get 100 calls a day more than they do.
Post in the general section to get ahold of who to go to in alberta for your inspection, sounds like your getting jerked around.

Can you give me a hint as to how to get in touch with these guys? Do they work for ICBC? Who are they that they we are not supposed to be calling them?

Thanks

they are the top people in charge for what is required for compliance issues regarding lights, reflectors, everything. they are in charge for BC. alberta has its own set of regs, but they are pretty much the same as here, so I dont know why your mechanic is picking at you, take it to another garage. post a question of who to take it to in your town, some one will tell you who is not against right hand drives.
