Help...new glow plugs...injection pump rebuilt still no good

Some points for deduction:

- vehicle starts fine when warm outside or has been plugged in (coolant warm)...therefore rule out items that are unaffected by the relatively small temperature fluctuation. I don't see how compression could change for the worse nor do I think injectors would change function in ~20oC range..

-if it is a contracted seal that is letting air in...it is one that is close enough to a flow of coolant to be sufficiently warmed and swelled when vehicle plugged. Would think that rules out pin holes and leaks in fuel lines and fuel filter housing.. Even though IP rebuilt it could still be the source of a bad seal.

-. You have verified that the glow plugs are getting 12v for the proper time via a dash light so that rules out glowplug relay and anything related to the coolant ttemp sensor/glow plug ecu.

my guess is on batteries or the plugs.

thanks for the ideas, might try a new fuel filter to make sure the seal is good and double check the glow plugs then a comp test and see. it has 160, 000km on it and has always seemed louder and smokes a lot more than others I've seen. it is really loud On start up and gets some looks forsure.

I am having the same problems with my 4m40 deli. I have had the glow plugs changed and new seals put in the IP. If you figure it out please let me know.
