I also had success with a very light sanding of the terminals. However I ran into trouble the first time I did it as I also used dielectric grease on the terminals. In the environment I operate my vehicles in (90% gravel roads) the dust was attracted to the grease, and within a week the electric closuer didn't work at all. Cleaned off the grease I had put on and it worked perfectly. Only downfall to not having the grease is that I've had to re-sand the terminals once in a 12month period. I think I should be able to do the light sanding for quite a few years before sanding through them, but time will tell.

Just a note about the contact that i noticed while investigating my issue. I found that the black plastic housing, that the pins are in, is spring loaded You can push the whole thing in . Mine was seized From age/environmental contamination. I cleaned this part and then shot lubricant into the housings moving part surfaces and freed it up.......

worked like a charm after that. Never had to sand contacts.

There is more than dirty/faulty contacts in the locking mechanism. In fact there is a bunch of moving mechanical parts as well as sensors and switches and of course those mechanical moving parts require lubrication.
To summarize what I have learned from 5 long threads on delicaclub.ru:
- if the problem described by CREGAN is low temperature related most likely it is caused by lack of lube ot its degradation;
- otherwise it is the result of electrical parts malfunction and/or broken/worn mechanical components.
It is beyond my abilities to translate and post all pictures, diagrams and tables as wel as troubleshooting procedure from the Russian workshop manual but you can refer to the English manual, section 42-48 'BODY - Slide Door' as a start. :M

Ahhh Yes mine did start acting up when it got cold! I will try greasing things up to see if that makes them happy:) Glad I found this post, Thanks!
