Some posters to this thread have asserted that:

(1) Delica.ca is a profitable venture ('cause everybody knows that, right?); and,
(2) As members of the delica community they feel an inherent entitlement to any and all such profits.

While I'm not entirely clear where either of the above beliefs stem from, I do recognize that some folks consider the notion of profits distasteful.

To appease the mob, here are the 2011 financials to date...

Google Adsense Revenues (2011 to date) = $401.78 (Falco can confirm this figure for any skeptics out there)
Server Costs (2011 to date) = $40.00 per month x 6 months = $240.00 (approx.)
Incidentals (Noahs Classifieds license @ $199.95 , RSS Includes license @ $35) = $235 (approx.)

Server costs are a bit rough admittedly (I pay about $60.00 per month but I host a few other smaller websites within that space). Nevertheless, I am hopeful that this information will help any "anticapitalists" sleep better tonight!

With that kind of cash, all of us might be able to get a free hot chocolate at the next meet! Not that I'm ever able to go to any.

No one is making money with google ads other than google. I used to have them on my blog, which gets about 3x the traffic this site gets a day(about 1500 users) and the google ads would pull in about $300/year.
