Larry that is Pendleton Lake, one that has only ever reached the discussion of the 'hey lets try here, I heard from a guy at xxx lake who mentioned it back in 1899'. type of talk. Figure I've got over 30 years of pouring over maps of Cariboo lakes deciding where to fish. Three of us that have been going fishing in the Cariboo for 23 years together, in the early days in our 20's and 30's considered nothing wrong with driving 100 plus km's or hiking in for an hour, in hopes of finding fish. Same crew this year; fished mostly Sheridan and Bridge, with wine on the cabins deck after 5 pm some days - gone are the days of fishing non stop from ~7 am till the sun went down.

Alright: I would like to leave my turn open for anyone else to post a rec site picture, surprise or challenge us. Introduce members to your favorite spot!

Who's first with a recreation site picture?

Yep it was Pendleton Lakes. I finally found a lake you haven't fished - that was great! I think skipping a turn is a good idea. It would be nice to get a few more guys showing their Rec. Site adventures. Hopefully someone has a few pictures. With all the backroad drivers a few must have cameras.

As BCDelica says anyone can have his turn. If you do not have a picture of the Recreation Site you would like to put forward many have pictures of the site ( no Delica of course ) but that's still okay or you could PhotoShop if you wish.

The web site lists all active sites and is arranged in a number of ways to help find the site you wish by name, location etc. Have a go. I attached one of the pictures they have for Driftwood Bay the first site to locate.

I guess no one else has been to a Rec Site and came back with pictures or a memory of where they went. I think you might as well use your turn or convince TLGF to use one of his! I want to see more Rec Sites I haven't been to yet!

Okay, okay, finally some spare time. The rain is coming down monsoon style and the chum are heading upstream by the dozens. I'll go tomorrow if my torsion bars arrive today.

Here's a lake in area 8 that you may have been to. The pic doesn't show the lake well but it's a great shot of me in my old tube. Guessing shouldn't be a problem cuz the name is a compass point.

Would the lake be in WMU 8-10? 8 is a really big area.

I thought that would have been to easy. A lake called South Lake is located beside Postill Lake. Seemed right to me. I'll keep looking.

If one lake is in 8-8 could the sister lake be in 8-6?

That was a 'Mere' guess. At least this time I think you are in a Recreation Area if not a Site. Do people camp on the ' West' side of the lake?

There are actually four + old campsites connected up with a circular road. At one time it was quite a busy camping area but has not been maintained lately, although I've camped there 3 times. I thought your old maps might have shown this campsite.

My lake is a good fishing lake, has great hatches but is mainly a scud fishery.

The lake you are hinting at is not the correct one and the fishing isn't very good.. It might be close by....

Well I guess no one else want's to guess so I'll indicate where I think it is. I believe it is Eastmere lake and Westmere is the sister. The WMU numbers confused me a bit as 8-8 is east and 8-6 is west. If it is the correct lake some directions in would be nice as my Backroads GPS and Goggle Earth are pretty sketchy for trails around these lakes. I did find a site indicated for Eastmere on a 90's version of Backroads maps for the area but nothing on my old Forestry maps.

Your guess is correct. Eastmere is a lovely lake to fish in July before the real heat sets in. Although that being said I have fished it in August with great results too.

I'll try to print off my route from my garmin Etrex. Be prepared to loose a little paint as my friend says it's getting quite overgrown there now. You do need a pontoon or float tube and carry it the last ways to the lake.

Your choice next.
thanks
