Hello again - almost official!

Post by Elbrad »

Hey folks! Brad from Nanaimo, and it looks like I should be picking up my first Deli on the 19th or 20th.

Looking forward to meeting you folks, I see lots of Delicas here in Nanaimo and I always feel like I should wave...but then I realize I'm not driving the Deli yet.

I'll post pics as soon as I've signed the papers!

Wow! Today was a busy day for Delicas!

I finished work early today and was in Parksville, thought I'd drop in and see the guys at Coombs Country Auto. I couldn't have made a better decision. Glen took about a half hour to talk to me about Delicas, and my "Plan B" the Sambar or Domingo.

He quite soundly talked me out of the Kei vans, and when I got home I went looking for Delicas again. Lo and Behold! The dream delica shows up, and I make an appointment to see it tomorrow morning. Awesome!

If everything works out well, I'll be driving her over on the ferry heading back to the Island by noon or so!

It's official!

Boba has found a new owner!

Only one problem so far, I have a bunch of repair/maintenance receipts (an engine rebuild being one of them) from the former owner from Japanoid, a Japanoid badge on the back, and a Japanoid oil change sticker on the windshield...

...but I don't have DOT approved headlights on it. I bought Boba almost instantly, without thinking that this would be a problem based on Japanoid's awesome reputation...but as we were bringing the new ride home and it was getting darker, I noticed the headlight pattern was wrong. Got out...checked the lamps...sure enough they were stamped "Japan".

Ah well...looks like a visit to Coombs is in my near future. I like the guys there, I just hope I don't have to keep giving them money! lol

Congratulations... smiles. I find DEPO headlamps to be very good and Glen at CC Autos is a quality man who has gone out of his way for me. Get to know your wagon ~ happy trails!
