Hello
Today I am going to look at L400 4x4 2,5 td here in Norway
The H/L gear handel of this car looks like this ( see picture ), and by seeing it I doubt that this L 400 4X4 has the same gear system as the L 400 Space gear.
I miss the permanent 4X4 AWD option.
Can some one explaine me what the options are with this car on normal roads, with snow ?
Thanks Hans

Do you have more pictures of this? Looking at the footwell it seems other things are different as well. It may be it is a re-badged Hyundai Starex? It is hard to tell from that photo.

Hello,
It is a real L400 4x4, but a very basic one, no awd, no intercoler and no electrical windows.
I bought it yesterday.
It drives very well and is in good condition for a 10 year old car.
And will get me good through the winter here.

That appears to be the same configuration as in the L300. What kind of hubs does your van use; manual or auto hubs? On a hard surface road (tarmac/concrete) I would only use 2H. On loose surface roads (dirt roads/snow roads) I would use 4H, or 4L if they are tricky, steep, &c..
Would love to see more pictures of the whole vehicle. It is a LHD, no? Does she have the dual sliding doors? What's the RPM like on a manual transmission L400?
Falco.

Re: H/L gear handel
if it is a 2.5L it maybe a 400L that came with the 300L motor/trans/transfer. There is one for sale on here in BC.

Here she is, the car has the 4d56 motor and auto-hubs and with dual sliding doors.
Simpel, but a good work horse, and she drives lovely her in the fjords area of Norway.
