I have a dream

Post by gottaget1 »

I can not introduce my van, only my desire to one day do so. My name is Trevor and I dream of Delicas. I am unsure of how to get a hold of one of these vehicles. I would like to import but am not sure how. Many different sites will help but what are the real costs, what is the best way. Any advice?

As you said there are a couple of dealer websites, especially from Alberta and B.C. ! Personnally I thought ZenAutoworks looked really professional, and he's the one who informed me about the ban in QC, and how to make my voice heard. Some forum members seem to have made business with them.

But there are tons of other importers, like Mardy's Amazing Auto Imports, SilkRoadAutos... uh... etc.

By the way, we're in the same situation. I want a Delica too, but RHD vehicules can't be registered anymore in QC, unless they're 25 years old... So I'm trying to find a good Delica Exceed already registered in the province.

We will be better able to help/direct you to local dealers if you identify in your profile where you are located.

Other than that, you could trawl this forum and find something/someone in your area.

Hello Trevor, I to dream of Delica's. Also unsure of how to obtain one where I live, most of the difficulty being importing and registering an imported vehicle here is more expensive and difficult than Canada.

When we bought our first Delica.ca was just a gleam in Mark's eye, but extensive reading of the UK and Aussie forums answered our all of our questions;

all the answers you seek are within this forum.

Wow, I am continually amazed at the demand for these vans and everybodys story. I am living in Nelson, BC. There are tons of Delicas out here however I don't know anyone who owns one. I have only ridden in one once. It was late at night coming out of a backcountry ski weekend where our keys were lost amongs our incredible kootenay snowpack and needed a ride back home. It was then that a wonderful man in an incredible van helped us out.

If you get the chance, just walk up to a Delica owner and say hello, then ask! Most of us are nice, at least, those who frequent the forum are. I asked a bunch of owners about Delicas - and spent a great deal of time on this forum before getting mine from Amazing Auto Imports.

Now I find people coming up to me to ask me about my L400 on a fairly regular basis. It is, as someone on this forum already said a 'Middle aged man magnet'. :shock: I would rather it were a chick magnet, but apparently my karaoke machine fills that role.

If you find yourself in Vernon, we could arrange to give you a tour of our Delica.

I'd like to think that we got fellow Okanagan Delica owner, almac, hooked on Delicas after he saw ours a year or so ago :-D

Hey BCDELICA

I was just in thailand and while riding the night bus out of bangkok one evening on my way to the south we passed a used car dealership with 5 delica L300 parked along the front row! all had the bush bars, and 2 had roof baskets. 2 silver, 1 white and 1 black. post 1990 as they did not have the square lights.

FYI, you can be delica rich again!!!
