Strange device on my door

When I first picked up my Delica I noticed that there was this small black box attached to the door but thought nothing of it at the time. But as I learn more about these wonderful machines I became curious as to what this little box was. The writing on it is too faded to read but maybe someone here has seen this before.

Does it light up, or is it wired somehow?

Might be a proximity detector to alert you if you're about to open your door into something.

I don't know if it lights up but I don't think it is wired since the one on the drivers side is missing and there are no wires or holes.

Is it reflective? Open the door and walk away from it a bit with a flashlight and shine it on it to see if it reflects.
