Here it is a thread just for slamming on those awful looking vans!
(unfourtunately with a better drive train, less road noise, more power, probably better handling and some other stuff which I will continue not to overly acknowledge! :-D )

Oh yeah, I was going to start this thread, but being relatively new to the forum I didn't want to appear rude or embarrass any potential L400 drivers. Of course, then I realized that if they drive one they'll be embarrassing themselves anyway! So here goes:

My first impression of the L400 was that it was the classic disconnect between the western world's idea of stylish, and the Japanese "idea" of the western world's idea of stylish. Kind of like doing Japanese Michael Buble tunes on karaoke. What you end up with is just bad.

L300's on the other hand, LOOK Japanese which is part of the attraction. Practicality meets originality.

L400's remind me of people who try to pimp out Sunfire's and Neon's because they have a complex and can't afford a truly cool vehicle.

I don't care how many extra features the L400's have if you can only drive it at night.

There, that feels better.

I can't agree more.

I made the mistake of noting my feelings in a thread where one is for sale. I've since then apologized for having made the remark in the wrong place.

since that is done, I still think they have no appeal compared to the L300's.

Life goes on.

I like both styles and thank god we don't all like the same thing.

I like the interior convienences of the 400. Foot rest, cup holders, etc etc.......

I have 3 kids and anything to make the trip a wee bit more comfortable is a bonus.

I do like the exterior styling of the 300 a bit more then the 400, but as I discuss these vans with people at work, some of them just hate both van styles altogether. To each their own.

So who ever is buying the 400's good for you be different, as were the folks who started to buy the 300's.
Keep your tip down and your line tight......happy fishn

looks like a caravan on steroids.... kinda made me think I'd better make up my mind and get a 300 before the steroid caravan is the only one available!

I've been in and driven both.

Lifted with some nice meats can make a stock L300 look like a little city car.

Don't diss the L400 until you see and ride one. :M

That's a funny thread... had to laugh out...

I actually like the tech-specs of the 400's - but would never go for one because of the terrible looks.

I guess I am just an old fashioned guy: I actually still have an 8-Track player (one that looks like a space helmet) in my cabin... no matter how bad the 8-Track sounds - it's got style and - despite it's age - it still works - and its weird - and you gotta give the weird stuff that works credit.

I confess: I've had my share of problems with my 300 (everybody who read the "are delicas crap?" post knows what I am talking about...) but at least I broke down in style!!!

Dont worry Joe, im pretty sure everyone knows that your mostly joking and the truth is that your just a little green with envy  :-D
I think jessy just truly wants the LWB version.... 8-) 8-) I actually am hoping to have the LWB and the SWB for my our selves by mid summer, and I have my eye on a SWEET lifted L300, but im going to need a larger driveway or lift up one of my garages....
Any chance your coming down here for the tanks this weekend? I have some extra WVO i dont want and you can have it. it just titrates to high for me to make ideal bio diesel out of it , and with spring here, i dont need any more bio in the furnace. Im sort of running out of room. I have about 1500 extra L to process into good fuel now, so i really dont want the fugly oil. but it makes great fuel for the wvo kits....
well ttyl
and I love the polish job a computer does on that George michael van lol,
