We finally got a decent bit of snow!!!!! :-D :-P :-D

My mate phoned this morning to ask if he could have a lift in to work when I asked why he told me to look outside.

Outside my house this morning looked like this

My Paj looked like this

After a small debate about if we should go to work we decided that if we went in the chances are we would get sent home again for the third time this week on full pay at lunch time.

So we went into work, I done a bit of drifting in the Paj in the yard and we all generally acted like a bunch of kids having snowball fights and doing stuff like this

Thats one of our reps cars :-D :-D :-D

Then at 10 o'clock they told us we could go home.

So I drove back up our lane
Image

And came home to play with kids in the snow

All in all not a bad day!! :-D

The amount of cars that where stuck at half six this morning was amazing.

There is a hill in our village that has two lanes going up and one coming down, on my way back down from picking my mate up there where lots of cars stuck on it. There was a car against the curb going up and another one next to it that had tried to overtake. Then others where over taking in the one down lane, so therefore blocking the whole road!

Was going to try and help but if they won't help themselves by being gentle with the go peddle why should I bother

Smiles, smugly... So I'll bet LT & BR shut down, saying that they didn't expect it to be so bad this year. I swear they do this for the kids, in particular the grown up kids. Enjoy your Winter, Drooper ~ I keep hearing ELP in my mind... "They said there'd be snow this Christmas, They said there'd be peace on Earth..."

Peace & Love, Falco.

Why pay hundreds of pounds for the alps :D

This morning woke up to this!

Looked out the back and the Leggie is staying where it is.

So nothing for it, load up the snowboarding gear and go and search for a hill, got chased by a farmer too :D but how cool is it to lay some tracks on a completley empty field full of powder snow. Its a very novel feeling here in UK. Got some funny looks from passers by!!

If the shoveling didn't give me a hernia, I think reading Falco's post on the previous page did. Reading this thread has caused me to remember why we Ontarian's think BC is in the tropics.

Hey Drooper, I have several friends here who have moved from the UK over the last several years, and most of them wish they had your winters back. We live on Georgian Bay and the snow is incessant. I can count on my (frozen) fingers the number of days we've seen sun since November.

We're up to a balmy -14 this evening. Had to shovel off the garage so it doesn't collapse. The second photo was when I fell off the roof. Wasn't far to fall. I'm not sure why I'm smiling in the first photo.

Another day of snow!! :-D :-D

We have had it here now for two days I am loving it!

I came out to this at six this morning again
Image

I must appologise, I keep going on about the snow we are getting and I'm sure you all must fed up with snow by now. But it's not very often we get it and I love this type of weather.

As does my dog
Image

As I say we have only had it for two days and already I have heard two people say "I've had enough of it now I wish it would go away!"

Anyway we went into work again and stood around for a while and they sent us home again at 0900 so another day of being at home on full pay. :-D
