Ouch....! Now I'm thinking the squanderous shopping habits of my significant other are not so bad.....

I went the poor man's route and spent $200.00 on a Garmin BT GPS receiver that talks to my Dell Axim PDA which I run iNav on that I downloaded via PTP, and $79.00 for the Deluxe USB capable stereo from Wally World. Definite bush league compared to that Kenwood, would love to see a pic of what it looks like installed if you have one.

One thing I've wondered about, how do you find looking at the maps on your nav system when it's in that location?

Its really easy to see and use. Screen is big and bright even in the sun!. And the glance down to check location or see what cross streets are coming up is great. I thought it would be a hassle where it is but the only thing that continues to be is leaning forward to fuddle with it ( never while driving.....) . And the voice prompts also help keep my eyes on the road. Its Garmin Nav software. So when "Nancy" tells me to turn left in 100m, I turn left! Its a good spot for me. Also away from prying eyes! Im happy with it. And I know its expensive. But they are coming down in price. Plus you can now wire it to other screens for the rear and it has sound zone controls. Oh and ICBC partially bought this for me from when my car was stolen last november. Still cost me 700 buck though.
