Hi,
During last Delica meeting I noticed many people had a tri-purpose device on the dashboard: compass, horizon level and temperature ?
I had to remove my dual cup holder that was sitting above the dashboard - it was making constant rattling noise, now I am faced with a hole instead. There is also connector there, but I could detect any voltage in it...
Any place I can buy that "device" from? Or any other useful gadgets out there to cover the hole?
Thanks !!!

You can buy it from Japanoid (they are out of stock right now, but have more coming from Japan) for about $150-ish. Also CC Autos in Coombs, and I'm sure a host of other importers / parts importers could get one.

Ah-ha!
On the Exceeds they are the Altimeter, Inclinometer and Interior/Exterior Thermometer.
On the Chamonix it is just the Altimeter & Inclinometer.
They get ripped of on the ships, although usually the bracket is still left. Japanoid can get them, they are around $80 for the Chamonix one. I find them useful, especially the inclinometer for when traversing uneven surfaces.

Re: missing a gadget above a dashboard
The device is generally refered to as a "pod." Ours has only two displays - altimeter and clinometer - and like many of the doubles, it has a bad dash-cricket, though there is a fix I just haven't bothered to attempt yet. I really don't use it and would like to have a less cluttered dash, but it's a cute delica touch, and I'm pretty sure Hazelnut wouldn't let me remove it, so I suppose I'll have a go at fixing the mounting bracket, eventually...

Happy Day!

It is cool to see this forum so alive,
I posted a msg here, switched to craigs list to post a msg about selling my other (non-Delica) car, switched back to this forum and found 3 replies already

You guys are great !!!
Strange, I thought one of the sections of the "pod" was a compass, but altimeter, might be a good choice too.
I think a cortable compass will replace the second cup holder which is still on the dash (who knows, there might be enother hole under it too)
:)

As the general consensus appears to be that I do not know what I'm talking about, and cause more harm than good, I am removing this post so that others are not tricked in to following my ill-advised instructions.

Re: missing a gadget above a dashboard
So the dual pod do not require power for normal operation, only need it to highlight at night?Green1 wrote: (the 2 you see are power for the back light, there should be about 12v present between the 2 wires when the dash lights are on)
I have tried all key positions in ignition today, and the wire seemed to be dead, but I haven't tried turning dash lights on, something to try tomorrow.
