the 2500 I quoted was the GVW, so adding enough weight to get you to 3000kg would not be a good idea without uprated suspension and brakes at a minimum (other components may not be happy either)Strada 92 wrote:Your point is good about truck over 3000kg.Buy a Delica and put plates of lead under the seats and wherever possible to reach 3000kg during weighing inspection !

Um, I think his point was meant to be humourous, much like my one about red cars...Green1 wrote:the 2500 I quoted was the GVW, so adding enough weight to get you to 3000kg would not be a good idea without uprated suspension and brakes at a minimum (other components may not be happy either)Strada 92 wrote:Your point is good about truck over 3000kg.Buy a Delica and put plates of lead under the seats and wherever possible to reach 3000kg during weighing inspection !

Re: Quebec RHD Ban
More info on the RHD,confirmed that since june 24 2010 no more RHD.How do I know, went to see a dealership for info on how to get a Delica from out west,he called a friend who works as an inspecter for the SAAQ(Société de l'assurnce automobile du Québec) and told me I had less than 10% chances to own a RHD car and register it to go on the road.To many young drivers here in the P.Q. who own a RHD and have deadly accidents while trying to pass other cars.(JUST CAN'T SLOW DOWN).So guess who pays for the minorities????

If one can't see beyond the car in front of them then it is likely that one is tailgating which I think falls under undue care and attention. I can't speak for Quebec but in BC you can get fined for it whether you are driving a RHD or a LHD.

Is this still true? Can it be? Has anything happened outside of PQ? Je suis désolé.

Re: Quebec RHD Ban
I was going to rant about speeders on the Boulevard Métropolitain in Montréal last week but deleted it.
Basically, no one -- no one -- is following the speed limits. Some are driving at double the speed limit.
Why the province would decide RHD vehicles is a problem is beyond me, they should be focusing on pragmatic road safety not superstition. Maybe forcing people to respect speed limits is harder for a politician to implement than to ban something that affects maybe 2% of the electorate. They can actually do nothing while pretending they are doing something.
Update... the father of one of my son's friends said he was in Quebec city, they were at a crosswalk with the lines, flashing lights, everything and a motorist drove right through without even slowing down. A police officer from the Sureté du Québec who saw the whole thing told him to be careful when using crosswalks instead of going after the motorist.

Well, a few years later and Quebec is now like the USA: 25 year old RHDs are good to go!
