So i've been researching Delica's for a couple years now and decided the time was right to buy one. I bought a 1996 L400 Super Exceed with all those fancy bells and whistles. I've been checking these forum recently for tips and advice, great resource. I tried the heat gun trick on the faded plastic, wow that works well!. I'm going to try to fix the IPF driving/fog lights up front and rustproof a few neglected parts, otherwise, the runs like a dream. I've got a few questions.
1. Anyone have a good step by step for door panel (speaker) removal and center console disassembly?
2. My Inclinometer and thermometer are broken, any ideas on fixes or alternative gauges they find useful?
3. Looking for a ladder and roof rails (kayak racks). I hear rhino makes some good ones?
4. Anyone put a center mount cup holder console thingy up front? Almost had a near disaster with the stock cup holders and a pop can
5. Any good Delica mechanics in the sea to sky corridor ?
Thanks folks, rubber side down

JSweet, welcome:
Here is some info that may help. I have a couple of pages bookmarked that I have found when removing the door panels and the console.
1) I removed my door panels last summer. It was fairly straightforward. I followed the first few set of instructions here:
http://imageevent.com/russpix/photos/ce ... conversion
Just be careful lifting the panel. If I remember correctly, pull the panel clips outwards on the bottom and then lift the panel upwards to remove. Don't force it. Make sure you remove all the pieces it says to on the instructions so you don't end up breaking stuff. Make sure you remove that plastic strip it talks about in pic # 3 (the vertical one). If you don't the panel won't lift upwards. Once the panel is off it is easy to see how to get the speaker out.
For the center console have a look at this link:

There are lots of posts on here and on the UK site that talk about gauges and the inclinometer. Some guys have had success fixing the inclinometer, some not. Mine is not working so I am going to install an EGT, Voltmeter, and probably a boost gauge. Seems to be what everyone suggests.
Good luck with the other stuff. Enjoy your new ride.

Two cupholders, tissue dispenser, and trash fits l400 series ones. Not many willing to spring for one at $350, but it's available.
