hello!
I have been following Delica's for a little while and always wanted one of course. I have family in North Vancouver BC and visit often. I would always see them and wonder why they were so common in Canada and not the US. Then I learned about the importing hassles the US has compared to Canada. Anyway, I recently spotted "what I thought to be" a Delica van. Turned out to be a US version Mitsubishi (Left hand Drive 2WD) van. I almost walked away from buying it due to many minor problems but ended up buying it due to it being rare. Maybe even more rare than the RHD delica vans. So now I own one and im already plotting to buy a Delica from Canada and/or a wrecked one to convert mine. Just wanted to say Hi to everyone and most likely will drive it to Canada this summer.
I have some issues and may need direction on where to post my problems, I also can't seem to find parts except ebay. I assume the Delica parts will fit?? Mine is a 1987 fuel injected 4 cylinder 2WD.
- Fuel gauge doesnt work (sender unit maybe) (will the gas light come on?)
- Radiator has a crack in it (any other parts compatible?)
- 2WD sucks (can I convert to 4wd easily?)
- Doesn;t have moon roof(s) (anyone ever try custom sun roofs?)
- Interior is a bit hammered and dirty (delica interior for sale?)
- one windshield wiper doesnt work, bolt is type but arm doesnt move (how do you access underneath?)
- Any known or common issues to look out for??
- Where can I buy parts??
thanks for any help or direction. I have never would have thought I was gonnna be so happy about a van.

Hi Skoob! Welcome to Delica Canada
Next time you are coming up to North Van drop me a line and we can hook up (I live in NV) and I can introduce you to the Miss Lil' Bitchi. As far as where to post ~ we have a forum just for the Mitsu Vanwagon as there is a growing number of American members here now. You will find it in the board index under "Delica Canada Technical".

I am near to you - I have an L400 and I am going through a NIGHTMARE trying to get it imported. The process has taken almost a year, and I am still not certain if I will be able to import it.
