Wifes new Series II Delica
Well, bought a series II for the wife today, or I guess it was tomorrow. Looks like it might be eligible to import in August, but not 100% sure on that yet. Now the waiting begins. We'll see if the photo comes up. I suck at this computer stuff.

Well, I guess duplicate picture is an improvement from no picture.

I like the first one better. How about some interior shots.

Re: Wifes new Series II Delica
I'll have more photos when it arrives at my friends place just outside of Tokyo. Right now, I just have the front and rear auction pics, and a few less yen. Hoping to finish some of the mods on my lwb while waiting for this one. I have to get my veg tank moved from its 'temporary" position on the roof. I've gotten to telling people I'm rust proofing my van when they ask why I've dumped veg oil all over the roof.

Hi,we have been looking at a new model delica too.I see you paid 384000 yen,so thats like $4800 cdn plus shipping $1500,plus all japanese agent fee $600& transport$300 from hokkaido=$7200 cdn before tax in canada?
Then you'll get all new tires, headlights, and whatever else needed for inspection.Around $10,000,did you get inspection done on van before you bought in japan on frame for rust?(I just seen it said big rust under neith)Any info is awesome cause we are ready to pull trigger too.Should i do inspection in japan.??

You got the 2.5" aftermarket exhaust. Nice find Jason
Paul, interior between the series 1/2 is the same for the exception of a few trim pieces and colour matching is different.

Re: Wifes new Series II Delica
I did have it inspected, there is surface rust underneath, but no structural rust. (supposedly). I was bidding on an almost identical one the day before, but my friend said there were rust holes in the frame, so I bid low, and didn't get it. I wouldn't recommend buying without having it looked at by someone you trust, especially if it is from northern Japan. I haven't checked shipping prices recently, but I thought they were still around $130 US per cubic meter. that should be a bit over 2G's for shipping. If you know of a cheaper method to ship I would love to hear about it. Also, if you are purchasing it before it is eligible for export, make sure you have somewhere to store it, or that may also cost you a fair bit. There are a lot of variables, and chances you take doing it yourself. My rule of thumb, is don't spend more than you can afford to lose. If you are borrowing money, or financing it, I would recommend buying one that is already landed in Canada. But that's just my opinion, you can take it for what it's worth.
Thanks Jessie, I would have preferred the factory flairs on the one in Sapporo the day earlier, i'm not real crazy about the aftermarket square ones, but it is what it is. Happy wife, Happy life.

Got some more pics today, no heated windshield (I really like that feature for our winters here in Manitoba) and no power curtains, but I do like the stainless intercooler pipes. Oh well a few more months to wait.

Dang, guess I have to figure out how to resize photos. This may take me awhile. Please stay tuned.

Re: Wifes new Series II Delica
That van looks great. The silver + grey colour combo looks rad...my new favorite. Also like the squared flares.
